26m wheelbase 😂 slip of the tongue, I love it. Great bike, would love to tour on one but definitely with reverse.

Great overall review However, confused that you expected more torque ? Changing well before redine ? Well it delivers 150Nm from 2000-4000rpm (peak 158Nm @ 3000), with torque tailing off significantly from 4000 rpm, so yes - that's exactly as you should expect it ?🤷♂

Yeah, I was confused too. I had to change a lot to keep it in the meat of the torque curve. Basically I was expecting more torque

@@TheClassicMotorcycleChannel as the original owner of a 2023 100 Years Anniversary R18 (6,000 miles) I can see how, when ridden in roll mode, you may perceive there to be a lack of torque. Put it in rock mode and and the throttle response is considerably more immediate giving a strong sense of immense torque off the jump. I ride in roll mode also and it can feel a bit flat as it requires the throttle to be twisted a considerable amount before the motor comes on boil. Rock fixes that making it feel more Harley like, i.e. instant torque gratification. Ride well, long, and safe.

This bike is known for scraping pegs/footrests. A decent rider in good conditions will find himself/herself constantly limited by the lean angle of the bike.

@@Roy_Godiksen put 10.000 k’ on that bike so far in different countries, always had fun, never scratched pegs and never felt limited. How fast will you go on a retro bike ?

10K on the R 18, right on

@drchristofor It's never about going fast to scrape pegs/footrests. It's about lean angle. And I've seen lots of KZbin videos on the bike where in regular daily rides, they're scraping. If you're always slowing down and being careful, it may never happen. But if you ride the bike at a relatively normal pace in a sharp corner, and don't counter lean. You can scrape a little too easily.

@@Roy_Godiksenfair enough, it depends heavily on the technique. Thanks for the reply, ride safe!

Calling your ride modes 'Rock" and "Roll" just sounds so...poseur... Who thinks that's cool? What's wrong with A and B mode?

If they made a 500cc retro based on the original with lovely old styling, less than 200kg and around £7k I'd be very interested. I'm not interested at all in this awful, overweight, overpriced, w*lly waving exercise in Americana!
