BMW N55 Engine Reliability History

The BMW N55 engine has generally shown good reliability, although there have been reported issues with the high-pressure fuel pump, valve cover and gasket leaks, water pump failures, and Vanos solenoid failures. Proper maintenance and inspections can help prevent or address these problems. BMW has taken steps to address some issues through recalls and extended warranties.

Funny, had a n55 got a long block at 24k, turbo at 30k Own a n63r now 80k miles no issues

Idk I have a n55E with 285k Km running fbo stg2+ I rarely have any issues all original internals
