BMW N57D30 Engine - BMW F01 Injector Replacement

In this video I am going to replace the 6 Bosch Diesel injectors on a BMW F01 730D with N57D30 engine.
Previous to the video, I could read some "off" values for one of the injectors and I could hear some strange tapping / knocking engine sound.... both when cold and warm, and I decided to change all 6. I first tried to change the injectors with some refurbished ones but that did not go so well ... engine was not pulling good, vibrations and pinging so I then bought 6 factory re manufactured ones.
I have been driving the car now for the past 2 weeks and the engine became MUCH more quiet , pulls nice , no pinging , no funky noise at cold starts. So changing the injectors on an engine that drove over 300.000km (like mine) is definitely a good investment for the ones that don't wanna hear "funny" engine noises.

Interesting video "even after two years". More and more cars with that engine reaches 250,000-300,000 km, if the rest of the car last that long. Thank you very much for the information around the job done.

thanks for the video ive had a knocking noise for a while not bad just a little but i rember i got a new code machine and it did a random calibration on somthing and thinking back thats mayb teh issue that causedt he knocking so now im goign to get all codes for my injectors recode them all if not the same and do teh calibrations on everything you have said thanks again and fingers crossed

Good and educative video. At some point you said "calibration G and calibration H". What does it means this ones?

Just calibration numbers that come from Bosch factory for injectors. I think it's telling the ECU it needs to use slightly different voltage.

AS I STATED in the video description, after driving 2 weeks (for testing the results) , the engine is MUCH MORE quiet , perfect sound , no more pinging and "tapping" or knocking ! Tested and satisfied with the results !

How many kilometers has your car? When did you feel the injectors were bad? Nice job 👍🏼

If you read description you see mileage :) 300.000km. I did not feel they are bad , I just heard them pinging from time to time. Then checked Smooth Running with a tester and saw one of them had always values over +2mg/stroke.

Salut. Am o problema la un f10, 3.0d 245 cp. La rece se scutura masina cateva minute, iar diagnoza spune ca injectorul unu e problema, iar inca doua nefiind nici ele in parametrii. Ce imi recomandati sa fac? Masina are 300.000 km.

Let me guess! I think most suggest: buy new injectors. But there are at least one video, where the man clean the injectors. So there could be two options, clean them yourself or let someone clean them. New injectors cost almost as much as a used car with 300,000 km, unfortunately. I have a 2011 X3/F25 30d with 251,000 km...

It's just a Launch head with a "China" tablet. So you can run Launch on any Android tablet with a genuine Launch diagnostics head. Just look for something that has at least 32GB of space on it so you can have all brands.

Well, if you keep the torque specs and do not remove them every 1-2 weeks I would say you are ok with the old ones.

Hi. I have to replace 1 injector. My scanner will do injector coding but not the Fuel Pump Prime. Others have suggested that for just one injector I wont have to do the fuel pump prime. Would you think that is correct or that I will have issues without having that function? Thanks

Your scanner should have the BLEEDING function for the fuel system , if it does not , then just turn ignition on , wait a few seconds , off, then on again for a few seconds ...and so long until you do this 10-15 times, then try to start.

@@GigiBeleaDK Thanks for the Reply GigiBelea and thank you for posting this Video. It's well done and it greatly increased my confidence in tackling this job. The scanner I purchased was advertised to have the Fuel Pump prime function, and it does, just not for BMW (Foxwell NT650 Elite). Apparently I need to NT530. I think I will keep it though and just use the start stop button as you suggest. The only other repair I think I would need the prime function for is replacing the fuel pump, but I think I beyond the point of getting under cars at this point. I did my trans service a couple weekends ago and I'm about done crawling around under cars, I just don't enjoy it anymore, that's worth paying someone else to do... Thanks again for the great video

I am getting to old to do things like this , not that I do not enjoy it but I start feeling it in my bones :)))

Sorry, do not know which other scanner could program them , but I think the dealer will not charge a fortune for this service.

Launch has several cheaper scanners that can do this. The Creader Elite BMW is a good one.

Because I am a crazy guy :) One injector was always pushing +1.2/+1.4mg/stroke so I decided not to change only one but all 6. Car drove 300.000km so injectors would be pretty worked at that mileage.

@@Taurivi Car was driving PERFECT also before I changed the injectors , I changed them because I am crazy about noises in the car and I want everything to be perfect in my cars ... guess asking a bit to much from an engine that drove 330.000km :) One injector was showing +0,8mg/stroke. Car changes like before , pulls ok. Only thing I noticed is less injector noise and fuel economy is just a bit better. (maybe because it was warm weather also)
