The bmw Tis saying that an injector with a return greater than 10ccm/min is faulty. Here you have run the engine for about 50seconds and they were already at 9-10ccm so the leak off test was accurate as long as you know what is the actual value to look for.

So what was wrong with the old tips? Blocked? Could you not have left them in some cleaner over night,sprayed some cleaner into them or used compressed air? Regards

Thanks for your video very informative and shows why balances and leak tests are inconclusive. I know my car takes around 150 miles for the ECU to relearn after installing new injectors so eventually those balances should settle but yeah great video and thanks again.

Where disappear the 3th injector`s copper washer? Hopefully not inside the cylinder.. :) Also, the third one seems quite "black" as some engine compression has passed around the copper seal.. Any compression test on the engine? What if some cylinder is way below the others then can be that irregularity or no? Some injectors need coding (written the flow numbers after the bench test). Are that ones with or without need to be coded as in Toyota`s ones..?

it looked like 1 5 and 6 were the ones most blocked as they were returning the most fuel (ie. not consuming as much fuel due to being blocked). However you say 1 and 4 were the worse.

При мен на е 61 2.5 д са от + - 0.0 до 1.2 на топло и от +- 0.3 до 1.3 на студено турбото е ново компресията е ок на студено подпушва всики път различно въпросът ми е защо? ... разход на масло около 700 800 грама на 10к 3 г е при мен все е така изчистих дюзите с ултразвук ефект за 1 седмица запалва изпушва и до 40 сек изчиства какво е вашето мнение и какво бихте ме посъветвали като специалист ? Благодаря !!

Nice video, but you have done only service on injectors, not on complete fuel and intake system. Diagnostic shall give you results of what it needs to do to get engine working according to expected parameters, as you know. So if you have good injectors and still corrections are off it means something else is not as good as it should be if injector parameters are coded as required.

Let me ask some :) You did the leakage test at cold, or at normal engine operating temperature? After the nozzle change the return fuel did not changed, because the worn of the control rod in the injector, am I right?

On cold engine . The return fuel was in specifications , so no need of any other job on the injectors aka no other worn parts , except the nozzle itself .

The leakage test is very different between hot engine and cold engine, for worn injectors. In my case, with cold engine, leak back test was pretty insignificant, but with engine really hot, I find my faulty injector which was flowing now instead of dripping!

Hi, thanks for the vid. I have a petrol e46. I suspect a bad injector. When the engines cold the idle is very bad. When the cars warm it is a lot smoother. My ltft is 10% so engine is a bit lean. Gets more lean under engine load. I have a high knock signal of 460v on cyl 4. Some background info: I often used to let the car run until less than 10 miles of range. So is injector likely? Thanks

Hi Michael ! Its possible yes . The easiest way to check it , swap the injectors , 1 cylinder with 4th cylinder injectors and after that check the knock signal again . Lean mixture under engine loads can be also the MAF .

i have e38 with same engine. it starts hard. when its warm it wont start again, i have to wait until it cools down. I changed crank and camshaft sensors, and its the same. Do you have any advice?

Hello Are anyone able to help me wit info regarding where to buy New nozzles for the diesel-injector on a Volvo D5 diesel engine? When an injector fails the leakback-test, will exchanging the nozzle normaly be enough in order to put it back into normal function?

Hi. The video is very useful, but I want to make a correction, about values of injectors. It's should be between -5.0 and +4.0, but those are critical values. :) Have a nice day. P.S. The information is according to DIS v57. DIS is much more accurate when make tests.
