I think the real question is "Are some UK insurers NOT a rip off?" Bemoto this year tried to sting me for nearly £700 to insure my 1250GS. Yes, I do 15000 miles a year, but I'm nearly 50, riding for 30 years, no accidents, no claims, ( 28 years no claims that I can prove ), no convictions and live in the back end of nowhere. Phoned them up, asked them to look at it, they could knock it down by £50, but nowhere near enough. Cancelled the renewal and went with Swinton for £250, saving myself just under £400.

It's crazy isn't it, that different companies see the "risk" of the same person on the same bike, living in the same area, completely differently. Or is it? Or do some see it as an opportunity to just load the policy?

@tojj29 they have never been the cheapest for me. I'm with Hastings with one policy and Lexham with the other and both my policies are cheaper than Willie's (just)

Grrrrrr grinds my gears, that happened to me, argued a toss and threatened to cancel so they back peddled. I use Hastings.

Bennetts quoted me an EXTRA £184 on renewal taking my insurance to over £400. I did a comparison website and went with Hastings Direct and Paid £162 for the year fully comp protected with leathers and helmet cover free. I've just had my car renewal through from AA and they wanted £424 an increase of £150. I did the same comparison and got it for £248 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬. They're all at it

All the insurance companies have the same basic clauses, charge to change, charge to cancel, void if you don't use the steering lock, and so on, it's basically legalised robbery. They know you have to pay for insurance, they know they can pretty much put in whatever conditions they like, they know that every other company will do the same. They just put a figure up and hope you think it is the cheapest one.

The facts speak for themselves Obviously Bennets charge more than other companies and have a very highmark up on cots to ammend anything after arrangement. Certainly a company I wouldn't be happy dealing with. I hope your viewers and subscribers take note and spread this around the biking community. not sure where the slander or libel was, given that everything you said was objectively true. Nominal charges are a rip off, putting your renewal up every-fking-year (not my bike one, but that's down to family) because they know how many people can't be bothered to fight it is crooked. Slicing up cover into a million sodding pieces that they now charge extra for is scandalous. Charging men more than women should not be allowed, the insurable risk difference should be equalised between the 2..yes 2... sexes. .............evening Tojj 🤣
