BMW R1200GS LED Tail Light

In today's video, I finish the LED upgrade on my 2007 BMW R1200GS, with the install of the LED Tail Light.
It was not direct, but in the end, it is working fine.

Great video, Hey, Something I wish all of us would include is the YEAR of our motorcycles. Mine is a model year 2013 R1200GS Rallye bur it was manufactured 10/2012. There is a BIG difference between a 2012 and a 2013 1200GS. So I always have to reference mine as a 2012. Anyway, my bike has a LED tail light on it. Don't know if it is original.

Hi. I didn’t fix the blinking rate yet. I have already a resistor set but didn’t had time to mount them. If you didn’t already do not forget to subscribe and activate the notification.

Are the led indicators bright enough, just in the video they didn’t appear that bright!

They are like OEM. No difference. Had factory led indicators on my previous BMW and I can spot no difference.

@@GFI Thanks. Indicators only use a twin wire resister - this tail light needs a triple (like the one in your video, which I found very helpful, thanks) - but tried ebay/amazon and no joy. Electrical store offered to make one for £30 + P&P if I know the resistor size I require (I thought that that was a bit steep for a light that only cost £20) - If you or any of your followers come across a reasonably priced one please let me know

@@chalkychalky3354 My bad, I thought you were talking about the resistors for the turn signals that I've mentioned but did not install them yet. For the tail light, I found the description for the R1200GS. This is the supplier link: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/moto-tempo-worldwide and this was the description (BMW R1200 GS C R RT CANBUS LED Tail light resistor kit loom OEM fit 6.3mm blade). Try to contact them to check if they can supply you the item. This is the best I can do to help.

Bom dia, a minha pergunta é se é só troca por troca? Nós piscas traseiros não tem fichas de ligação, além disso é necessário fazer alguma alteração na centralina? Também não tinha problema pq tenho acesso através da aplicação Motoscan Obrigado

@@pedroferreira9119Como pode ver no vídeo, a minha mota não tinha as fichas nem atrás nem à frente. Eu optei por cortar e soldar os fios e guardei as fichas originais. Neste momento eles estão a piscar com uma frequência maior do que devem e forçam um erro no quadrante. Comprei umas resistências para lhes colocar, mas ainda não tive tempo. Também tenho acesso com o Motoscan, mas não encontro nenhum parâmetro onde possa alterar o tipo de pisca para não ter de colocar as resistências. Se souber qual o menu onde isso se faz agradecia que partilhasse.

Hi. Mine still working fine with no issues at all. They have worked flawless from day one. IMO because it’s a 100% reversible mod, the risk is minimum.

Hola amigo, he conseguido el mismo cable que utilizas y mi problema es que cuando pongo el contacto la luz de freno se enciende sin tocar el freno. No consigo conectar bien los cables creo. Puedes hacer un vídeo explicando cómo conectar los cables?

Hi Javier. You are switching the cable. I will have a look and let you know the exact color scheme I used. It can be tricky, I tried a lot until match the correct sequence.

If you check the video from minute 6:28 I explain exactly the color scheme to follow. From the taillight side it's the green with the black (ground), brown with red and green/yellow with the yellow. On the bike side connect the bundle with the black with the brown and the other two just test them you have only two possibilities then. I do not remember but I think it's the yellow with the white. See also from minute 8:40.

Boas, não tem nada haver c o stop. Que crashbars são essas? Inferiores e superiores parecem robustas. Em relação ao stop no vídeo parece que a intensidade de luz é inferior a de origem. É do vídeo ou na realidade dá menos luz Bons vídeos ;)

Não fiz o teste de comparação de intensidade, mas é perfeitamente visível, tanto a luz como a mudança da presença para o stop. As Crash bars ja vinham com a mota e são da Heed. Adoro o aspecto delas
