BMW R1250R | Ride & Review

R1250R er en fantastisk motorsykkel. Kjørt 27.000 km på litt over ett år. Ingenting å klage på. 143 nm, Quickshift opp og ned, fungerer helt perfekt. Cruisecontrol er ett pluss. Sittestilling er helt perfekt, for en person med protese i arm, og flere brudd i rygg fra tidligere. No fuzz Er 168 cm, bruker original sete på 820 cm, har kjørt litt med sete på 750 mm, men orginal sete er mer komfortabelt. Får heller stå litt på tærne, for å nå ned. 9 av 10, eneste minus er 239 kg vekt. Men den vekten kjenn du ikke når du kjører. Sports speedometer, viste 45 grader, var nok litt over min komfort sone, men følte meg trygg. Ingen overraskelser med denne sykkelen. Løp og kjøp

I had a brand new R1250R delivered to me last week (the TE) version. I spent weeks deciding what bike to get and chose this one as a return to biking (had a BMW in the past). And I do not regret it. Lovely bike to ride, always in control, and pulls hard even from 2000 rpm. In fact I don't need to rev it hard at all. The boxer gives an unintrusive vibration and roar, where one feels one can have dialogue with the engine, unlike a smooth straight four. My only 'complaint' is all the things on the TFT display. Need videos like this as the manual is for me confusing. A big selling point is it slow centre of gravity, making slow speed maneuvering and handling easy, a point that cannot be ignored. I can ride it in a straight, even at 1mph. I considered a Triumph Tiger, but was scared I would drop it.

I test rode one at the MCN Festival of Motorcycling in Peterborough yesterday and fell in love with this bike. My goal is to spend two years saving up for one 😁 Enjoy your new bike bud!

@@WilkoLV I was fortunate as I has a mini windfall. Was focusing in on a Triumph Street Triple, but spent more and got this one. Can carry the wife on the back with a a top box as a seat back (BMW accessory). Hope the two years fly by for you.

@@malcolmabram2957 does the wife like it ? is it comfortable for traveling ?how tall are you , would you recommend for someone 1,85?

@@Richard-N I am 1.75 m and have not trouble putting my feet on the ground, in fact is perfect for me. You are taller, but should be alright. It is fine for a pillion (though no gold wing). I have a topbox and panniers, BMW issue. The top box is a also a back rest. The wife is comfortable.

the quickshifter actually isn't that smooth. Fantastic 2nd bike that doesn't do everything? This does everything and is more bike than you'll ever need!

Great review of this awesome machine mate! Now that you've ridden the R Nine T and R1250R, which one do you think is quicker off the line, 0-60 time?

I would have to say trhe R1250R felt quicker. However, the R Nine T has to be the most fun I've ever had on a motorbike. It just puts a permanent smile on my face every time I ride it

Thanks, I use the Insta 360 One X. It's just locking mount with a 1/4" thread from amazon

It's a nice bike but lives in the shadow of the GS and never sells that well which is a shame. I had an R1150R back in the day and having ridden the R1200R personally I think the telelever front suspension would suit it better rather than the telescopic forks it comes with.

It has the highest power to weight ratio of the 1250 boxers twins, and the fastest acceleration. But then I like naked bikes, they are more bikey than bikes with a fairing in front.

adrianbarrie13, I'd disagree about the telelever, it would be hideous on this bike. You're right, I'm in California and they don't seem to sell well, nor does the RS.

The telelever would take away all the feedback you are getting. It might add some comfort but that's not really the main target of this model. It's the sportiest boxer model. If you feel like it's too uncomfortable there are plenty other options. But a telelever would take away a lot of the sportiness. In fact that was a big issue with the previous r models with a telelever. It had the potential to be a sporty fast bike but the telelever held it back a lot.

@@fruityMangoExperienceinteresting comment about the Telelever. I really liked my R1150R, and I’m glad I’ll be test riding an R1250R in a few days. At that point I’ll see how the comfort and handling have evolved.

I'm not a fan of naked bikes, I like them but, with the amount of miles I do in all weather, protection from the elements is a must on my main bike

​@RevZolution I have a GSA1250 and I'm selling it. Big adventure bikes are pointless for most UK riders. No one goes off road. I do go off road, which is why I bought a CRF450L. Weather protection is neither here or there. I invested in some Rukka gear and it's brilliant. Never phased by any dreaded winter weather.
