Probably the turn surprised your friend, he stared at the bend, and there he went. Fortunately no traffic inbound, slow speed, and it was a "controlled side parking techinque". Thanks to upload this, we the wise bikers learn from it. Mike, keep morale up, keep riding and "don´t look the cone" LOL

Just a classic sports tourer dad, I've been seeing a lot of these guys waddling around car parks lately and falling behind me on country roads before zooming off at 100mph on a dual carriageway. Someone needs to start taking better care of them.

He was very lucky that day that there was nothing coming on that side of the road. Thanks for posting, and stay safe buddy 👍

glad everyone made it ok but does anyone knows what kind of pannier’s on that r1250rs?
@Tojj292 жыл бұрын
Good morning Marcial. The pannier set up on the RS is the Shad boxes and mounting brackets. bikeluggage.co.uk/products/bmw-r1250-rs-shad-3p-pannier-fitting-kit-w0rs15if They are a good fit, but he had a problem with one of the mounting arms which they replaced very quickly and the replacement is on there fine now. I think they are a good look for that bike, and IMO better looking than the BMW panniers. Ride safe

That's becoming quite contagious Nige. It's a lot less nerve racking on a Grom though. 😂 Glad he's ok. 👍🏻

To be fair to him, it looked like the road went straight on right until the bend appeared! 😂😂 He managed to stop before going through the hedge, put his foot down on the grass verge, and put it right in a hole! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Couldn't make it up

Good to see everyone (and the bike!) escape without injury to anything other than perhaps an ego ;)

Heartbreaking! My general rule of thumb on a bike is that I can easily negotiate curves at twice the suggested speed. So I don't think speed was a factor. Hmm, seems like he might've been focusing on the hedge/gate rather than the point beyond the corner. Been there, done that. Once was enough to help me keep my focus. :)

🤣🤣 Good job nothing was coming really, but we never miss an opportunity for a piss take. We'll go back one day and go round it properly😜😜Thanks for commenting 👍👍

I used to live nearby. Not exactly a difficult section.

No it's not, not by any means. We came through there on the way back from our Scotland tour. I think he took his eye off the ball there, he said it looked like the road went straight on which turned out to be a farm track, and the actual road went sharp left 😂

BMW sell you the service of a blackhawk helicopter from bavaria scrambled as soon as the GS detects anything other than tarmac, with boffins in white coats abseiling down with hot chocalate, laptops to fix the borg ship, and of course a brolly in case it's raining. In reality your mates take the mickey, help you pick it up, and mock you on youtube. Yea. Sounds fairly normal

So he basically over cooked the bend, thought it was going to be worse. Still at least the bike had a soft landing.

Agreed, could've been expensive on anything other than grass. Thanks for commenting.

Glad the rider was OK & very lucky no oncoming traffic. Just go's to show you can have all the electronic aids you want but if the riders not up to the job there little use, as we've just seen.

He was very lucky indeed. He did actually manage to get the bike stopped before hitting the hedgerow, but it then fell over when he put his foot down in a hole/trench🤣 Good job he was lucky, meant we could take the mickey 😂👍 Cheers for posting Ian

I have the same bike ( but without the luggage ) however many BMW riders keep the panniers on 24/7 as a form of crash bars for when pilot error or obvious lack of talent takes over 😂

He's been there and done that. Pure optical illusion of thinking that bend went straight on as you approached. Had we not been warned over the comms, we might have done the same. Still good for a mickey take though.🤣 Thanks for posting, appreciate it. Stay safe bud.

Good to see the only thing hurt was his pride. You might want to suggest if he wants to ride offroad then a GS might be a better option 😁 Mind you I dropped my 1st GS twice and both those were on the black stuff at low speed though again no damage done to me or the bike and at 5'7" tall and 11 stone I managed to get mine back up by myself using the method where you point the front wheel at the sky on full lock and lift the bike up by the end on the handlebar nearest the ground. I'm not saying he should try it for real just to see but might be worth looking on KZbin just in case m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/npWWcqqBadFpaqM. I did think it was funny the AA truck went past soon after though. Has the piss taking stopped yet?
@Tojj292 жыл бұрын
Hi Ade, firstly thank you for the sub👍 Next, one thing us simpletons do is NEVER stop taking the piss😁 The ironic thing is, probably out of all of us, he is the most confident on corners! I think he did well to even get round that corner as far as he did. When I came up to that bend, I also thought it went straight on at first. It was only when I saw a midget with his legs in the air that I realised it didn't. I think the tow truck mans eyes lit up at first with a potential customer. I see you've got the 1250GS Exclusive, very nice sir. I would love one of them but my god they're some blinking money aren't they. I'm off the bike at the moment so content might be a couple of months before any new stuff. Got a knackered shoulder from lifting heavy herberts up/down stairs. Just had a steroid injection so hopefully that works. Stay safe, and if you like people falling off, there's plenty on my channel 🤣 Stay safe buddy, take care

@@Tojj29 You're welcome, only came across this vid by "accident" as it appeared on the usual random list of things I might like thanks to KZbin's witchcraft. The 1250 is my 3rd after treating myself originally to a 1200 when I first retired and yes it's a lovely bike, very easy to ride and in factory lowered spec suitable for fellow midgets. I got ot 9 days before the first lockdown 🤬 and haven't managed many miles on it due to having carpal tunnel in both wrists which has now been sorted so looking forward to 2022! One (slight) plus with the GS is in TE spec it comes with just about everything you need so you don't have to add a load of packs to it so residuals are quite reasonable compared to other bikes. TBH I'm not a massive fan of group riding (probably because I've got no mates) and you certainly have to be on your guard to prevent getting lazy and fixated on your mate in front. On the taking the piss front my mate gives me stick about the time he turned up for a ride and had to push me down the road in full leathers to bump start me.....and that was in the late 90's🤣 Hope the jabs work and you can get back out on your bike soon. In the meantime keep taking the tablets while I toddle off to watch some more of your vids. Cheers Ade
