Faisal Khan, you are right. Whoever buys a Bmw, just cares about driving feel, whether it is 3, 5, 7, X3, X5, X7. So many luxury carmakers lost their soul. For example, Mercedes-Benz lost its soul i.e comfort such as the C-Class and steering feel such as the EQC. But now Bmw lost its soul i.e steering feel such as X1, M5 and body control such as the X5. But Audi and Volvo still have their USPS but also improve their handling. Even Jaguars weren't much fun to drive earlier, but with new XE, XF, F-Pace and XJ, they absolutely nailed the handling of these cars.

Faisal Khan, its not only 3 series, even the Volvo XC40 is better than the X1 and is also the best entry level luxury suv available in the market as it looks gorgeous both on the exterior and in the interior front, offers lots of features, technologies which are available in the luxury cars which cost twice the cars of this segment. Of course, it is pricey due to its CBU import, it's rear seat isn't the best, it is not available with a diesel engine and all wheel drive, comes only with one variant and one petrol engine option, it is not that exciting to drive, its petrol engine's performance is good enough but not that exciting and Volvo's dealership and service is limited. But the XC40 is worth buying as it offers great bang for the buck. What do you think about it?

is there a seal belt alarm going on? I have owned a X2 for 2 years, after owning a M240i (yes part M car) and its more about perception than actual difference in real life use. No one wants the rear to drift on city roads or even on fire roads where others may be present. X2 and X1 have the same DNA, they just look different so I feel a bit surprised by your review. The difference is not that much. Get a 2.0 petrol and put it on Sports and you will think it is a pocket rocket. Not sure if 2.0 M sport is available in india.

Rear seats are worst...so is the suspension....i have a 2018 model ..i changed all 4 tyres to tubeless radial anx threw away the runflats....still the spare wheel s headache. Small but rquired 60psi pressure ...no air pumping centre have 60 psi pump so i use Bus tyre pumping stations... I placed new bigger cushions on rear seats to soften them and make the thigh support acceptable.... Bmw has intentionally made is car so bad at the rear just to market x3 other wise it would have been the best car around

Last year I purchased the bs4 model of this same car(pre-facelift) for 39lakhs on road. Considering there are cars like mg hector, Creta and Kia seltos in existence which get more features and cost half the price. I mean the pre facelift car didn't even have CRUISE-CONTROL!? The Bmw X1 is a Mini Countryman with BMW badge but misses out on Mini's and BMW's razor-sharp steering. Forget the 3 series, even the Audi Q2 and the Volvo XC40 just drive better than the X1 as their steering is more feelsome, although the XC40 has some amount of body roll but is well contained for its height and weight.
