I don't know if is just me, but those enlarged kidneys, look way too big. Maybe this particular color doesn't help either? Somehow makes the front of the car kind of weird...........kind of a disproportion of a sort......

Finally a new car that hasn't completely ruined the design. It seems like most new cars (GLE, A4, 7 Series) all manage to make the new version look worse than the old model. This X1 looks nice.

We received ours April 2018. it has the same small gearshifter as the 2020 model also. i see no difference on the inside. only the nose has changed and little bit the backlights. its at 24000km. we had to bring it to repair one time. a broken particles filter sensor. and it will be getting a first oil servicing soon. other than that its been fantastic car

All in all I believe it is the most interesting SUV from BMW. The facelift does not change much to the previous version though.

Thomas scores another great video... Surprised with this X1: the grill looks good here, nice front end, no fake exhaust tips, rear space is good for its size, trunk very reasonable...only BuT re 62K fully loaded... steep!

Essentially, the BMW X1 is built on the same platform used by the BMW MINI Countryman and the BMW 2- Series Active Tourer.

I know it’s just a “LCI” (as bmw calls their restylings) but I think they should’ve done something more to update the interior: it looks outdated. What about a new steering wheel or a digital dash? They would have refreshed the interior design. Thanks for the review Thomas, I always appreciate the effort of Autogefuhl team.

If are considering the X1, don't get the adaptive suspension as consumer report has been reporting high failure rate for that specific suspension. I also wouldn't get the Alcantara seats as the fabric has poor durability.

Never been a fan of this car, just find the proportions to be odd. Almost like the design was an afterthought based on maximizing interior space. Wow that interior needs to go. BMW interiors are like iPhone, giving us the same thing over and over. Big up to you guys for bringing us the best vids and so timeously.

Hello Thomas. Thanks a lot for Theis nice review. This facelift is very disapointing and offers too less technological updates. Why are they proposing an old fashioned entertainement system and no digital dashboard like in the x3 x5 new 1 series . I do not understand BMW

Love the facelist, a very smart looking car and even if the interior looks a little bit outdated, still one of the best in my opinion. Looks much better than the new Q3...and The XC40, definitely too boxy with a soooooo cheap interior!

The XC40 interior is simplistic but not cheap. The Volvo drives well and has decent ground clearance (being an SUV) and proper AWD Haldex gen 5

My Active Tourer M Sport takes up less Road space and has better interior space. Plus XDrive option. X1 is nice but makes no sense to me to pay more for a bigger less practical car. Agree with all the comments about the dull dashboard design. But it’s my first BMW and I can tell you it’s extremely intuitive and safe to use. Compared to new Volvos, far too much time concentrating on the touchscreen and not on the road.

Nice review. Suggestion though, next time please switch on all exterior lightings for viewer to look at if you get the chance. Also, hope that BMW brings in a torque converter tranny to asia market especially, in smaller countries where a dct is just too impractical. Otherwise, just offer both as selectable options. Looking forward to its availability and options list.

same old interior i know it'a just a facelift but still all other new bmw have way more modern interior design but in thia one they still used the 5-6y old interior layout and tech (just look at the diala when he powers up the car) the exterior looks for a facelift only good tho

With all the facelifts and new vehicles coming to the market these are exciting times and I’m glad that I’ve discovered Autogefuhl to guide me through them. You guys seem to get the reviews out quickly particularly German metal 👏. As for the X1 a competent package but it just doesn’t wow me unlike the new Peugeot 2008e. OK it’s a different class but the design is simply stunning and that electric blue is to die for.

62,000 Euros for that vehicle? I am sure you can get better value elsewhere. Apart from the over-size grille, it looks good if a little dated but what does it offer over its rivals? Only a 3 or 4 cylinder engine, spare tyre is optional and pricey in UK

Well, SUV is the fastest growing segment in the world. strange though, is that the best segment is still hatchback, globally. But I think the looks are subjective. Personally, I like the new 1 series.

its actually a very good position, your vision is still partially on the road. Many screens are in the middle of the dashboard, and you have to take your eyes off the road to look down. Dangerous in my view.

ours is from 2018 and it has no squeaking anywhere, maybe might come still, but that goes for almost all "older" vehicles. maybe a rolls royce doesn't after even 10 years? :D
