Not that I whine a lot about those defects of Tesla cars, but just to review the truth that a lot of KZbin reviewers fail to mention these defects of Tesla cars. While if you buy a Germany, the interior quality if just superb from day one. Tesla still can't beat that. And, that is the truth still.

This is a very biased comparison. I own a Model Y and a BMW X3. The only advantage I see the Tesla has is having an electric motor with high immediate torque. But that's not unique on Teslas, it can be found as well on BMW's iX3 and iX and of course other brands. But the car where I feel comfortable, full of features that I use every day, is the BMW X3. The Tesla lacks so many basic features that feels like an economy car. There's no HUD, no 3D Parking View, no variable suspension, no speedometer, no welcome lights, no leather, a sunroof without electric cover, it also does not open to get fresh air, no Apple Carplay... I could continue the whole day. The X3 has all the Model Y features, there's nothing missing except the FSD which I don't use doe to safety worries.

I love Tesla service! I had a flat tire earlier this week (nail puncture) and noticed it in my garage. (Gjeebs had a similar situation a couple of months ago that he documented on a video.) I called Tesla Roadside Assistance late last Tuesday and they had a mobile van available anytime the next day. I opted for a 1 pm appointment. Mobile van showed up at 1:20, fixed the flat and the car was done by 2. I paid $62 for the entire episode. By the way, the van had a tire removal device mounted in the van and a spin balance machine as well. Technician took the tire off of the wheel, fixed the puncture, balanced the wheel/tire assembly and I witnessed it all. Tesla service rocks!

I have been following your channel, specifically for the Model Y. I find your reviews to be straight forward and honest.. kudos. I have had a model y for roughly one month. I have LR with the Gemini wheels and both my wife and I find the ride to be comfortable even with the tires aired up to 44 psi. So far the car had been a blast to own and I can’t stop geeking out over it. As a retired engineer this is the perfect vehicle. You are right about road tripping. You have to plan. We just took a trip from Harrisburg to Cranberry Twp, north of Pittsburgh this week. No problem keeping it charged up but the weather sure does impact the range. On the way out on the Turnpike it cold with a 10-20 mph headwind and I figured we took a 30-40% range it. We had to charge two times. On the way back the weather was nice and we were able to cruise home with just one short stop. Love the care. Keep up the good work.

A few items. As others stated previously it’s rear wheel drive. Second that’s the leatherette seats. I’m shopping for an X3 for my wife and the design is different. Quality of the materials is way better on a real leather X3. Performance wise the X3 M40i is more in line with the Model Y Long Range and the X3M is the direct competition to the Y Performance. If Tesla had a Standard Range Model Y that would be a more direct comparison to the X3 30i. For my money the best thing is a used current generation X3 with warranty left and you can get those for under $30k.

My last car prior to my Y was a Mercedes E550 that I bought new in 2015. Mercedes service is fabulous but not cheap (I'm OK with that). Tesla service so far has been fabulous as well but has costed very little. And Tesla has handled the two problems that I had immediately in one case and in less than 24 hours in the other (see my comment directly below). So if you want a gold standard service experience (Mercedes) versus Tesla, there you have it.

You're correct...that particular car is RWD. As a previous BMW owner, I can tell you with confidence that SDrive is technically a 2 wheel drive system. If you have a lower-end model like a BMW X1 or X2, the SDrive is FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. Once you step up to the X3 Sdrive, the power is directed to the rear wheels. Good video despite the front wheel drive (S drive is rear wheel drive) and the 2 cylinder on the BMW comments. I'm all for Tesla, but the other difference between the X3 and the Model Y is the price. The BMW X3 will sell for much less than MSRP. A typical BMW X3 (Xdrive) with an MSRP of $50K will sell for more like $42K-$44K vs. the Model Y will only sell at MSRP. Yea those are fair concerns and something I didn’t even think about being in Phoenix. Hopefully someone else can help you

Sometimes if it's an easy fix Tesla mobile service will just come to you.

BMW does not build FWD vehicles. You are losing credibility with me which is a disappointment because I have enjoyed most of your content.

Just wait until Tesla Serv...... it’s trash, except for Mobile Service. Tesla doesn’t come close to the real luxury brands as far as service.

What is the point of this review? All I could see was the presenter's face and virtually nothing about the cars. Except a grossly biased opinion about the Tesla.

Tesla service is what it is. I’m not going to ruin it for you, you’ll see. I think Tesla owners just need to keep a few things in mind. The company is growing virtually all segments of their business (no they aren’t going to cater to your every ask and need). It’s not comparable to BMW, so it’s a tough pill for some owners to swallow, if you think it’s going to be the same, don’t buy a Tesla.
