Bro I got an x3 2004 model and the speedo ain't working or moving so I heard I should reconnect the battery is that true.. And if I only disconnect and reconnect the negative will that do the teick

I have charge ports under my hood for jumping purposes. Should I disconnect the + and - cables from that before changing the battery?

Great question to ask my dear friend. No if you are wanting to charge your battery you will not have to disconnect the [Positive+] or [Negative-] Terminals from your battery. Also the [Positive+] & [Negative-] Terminals underneath the Hood will not have to be disconnected neither. It will be safe to keep both Terminals connected While charging and maintaining your vehicle's battery. I hope this information helps you my dear friend & i appreciate your support. I think i will ask my mechanic about registering the new battery since it is within the years that new chip technology allows for up battery updates.

That's understandable my dear friend. You can get it checked for Reassurance. But Once your battery is properly installed & you have no indications present on the instrument cluster you should be fine. If the correct AGM Battery was installed the vehicle will Immediately Recognize the new battery and it will not have to be Registered to the vehicle. The the Little Black Box above the Battery with the thick Red wires running into it is called a Battery Terminal Fuse Box. it's also called a Junction Box. Here is the prime definition of a Junction Box -A junction box is an electrical enclosure that houses one or more wiring connections. I think I must have had the wrong battery in my car changed a few years ago. Had to take the car to the dealer to get them to do something with the car to recognize the new battery.

Yes your absolutely correct my dear friend, if you get the Wrong Battery for the BMW X3 E83 the vehicle will not recognize the new battery that was installed. The BMW X3 E83 requires A [AGM] Battery, this specific Car Battery should not Require you to register the new battery. I hope this information helps you my dear friend & i appreciate your support. Hey my friend I hope all is well, I'm so very excited that you have found my channel and i Hope you become a member of the sub family community! Replacing an [AGM] with a conventional battery would be like using the wrong part for your vehicle. The battery life is shortened, and the performance maybe affected in most cases. [AGM] batteries have a fine glass fiber separator between the positive and negative plates that absorbs the battery acid. When replacing an [AGM] battery, it's always important to use another [AGM] battery for your BMW. As with using a conventional battery for your BMW can shorten the battery life and affect the vehicle's functionality. Also BMW began installing [AGM] batteries in many of its vehicles in late 2002, and some of BMW'S other vehicles was equipped with lead-acid batteries and the was later retrofitted with [AGM] batteries. So with saying all that I do recommend you to replace the conventional battery that is currently installed in your 2008 BMW x3 e83. X 1/4 in. drive SAE 6 Point Deep Socket, and you will also need a 10mm socket as well my friend. Also will put the links to the socket sizes in the description. If everything was done correctly there is no need for the [AGM] lead acid Battery to be Programmed to your BMW. Programming may not be required at all if a [AGM] battery was installed. Now if you install anything other then a [AGM] Lead acid battery it's likely the new battery has to be “registered” or matched to the onboard ECU for proper operation and battery longevity. But I would definitely recommend you to only install what the vehicles manufacturer recommends Which would be a [AGM] lead acid Battery. Auxiliary batteries are still fairly rare but you will now see secondary auxiliary batteries in many cars ranging from Mercedes Benz, BMW, Chrysler, Jeep and more. the BMW X3 E83 [2004-2010] Does not have a Auxiliary battery. There is only one battery located in the Rear trunk area. But these models do have Auxiliary batteries, BMW X5 F85, BMW X6 F86, BMW X5 F15, BMW ect. But I do want to Mention that a Auxiliary battery can be installed professionally in to your BMW X3 E83. I hope this information helps you my dear friend & i appreciate your support.
