Can people please stop winging about cars they haven't seen in person? I attended the launch event for this car and it is an amazing piece of engineering and design. It takes the lead when compared to its rivals in price to features value and sets the standard for all the SUVs to come. See the car in person, sit in the drivers seat and drive it, then say the car is not as great as another. But I guess haters gonna hate LOL.

Having driven this at launch training amongst competitors including the range rover sport it is by far the best in terms of driveability. He said the range has a better ride but fails to mention its absolutely massive, feels huge on the road and handles like a sofa.

BMW's system doesn't play different sounding it enhances the existing sound which the engine already makes, with no tweaks to the sound; a 10% bass tone is added (this is because the interior is so well insulated that the engine is almost muted).

I think I've found my favourite SUV ever. I find it absolutely stunning to look at, not to mention all the technology on the inside, which I'm frankly most interested in, appears to be abounding. I love the headlamps too. Very masculine-looking sport ute.

I have the 40d and the ride is great without adaptive suspension. Sport mode is perfect, steering tightens up as does throttle response. Well mannered, big and very comfortable. Bought it over Range Rover. I think it looks great. Can't get better than 30mpg with normal driving though.

I'm a new x5 owner of the latest 2nd gen. I gotta say, my m sport limited edition, got pretty much every feature he pointed out, the only improvement I have to say is the interior, looks a bit slicker, but function wise, 2nd gen got it all. I'm just glad I got the last of the better looking x5. And saved me about 30k.

I have this car. From 150.000km two turbos started to eat oil. After replacing the turbo chargers it eats more oil. Aprox 1.5 liter / 1000km

My neighbour bought one in pearl white recently and that was my first time to see a F15 X5 in real life, but God, that looks like an absolutely ugly mountain of bird shit! Seriously I miss the previous X5 which was a proper gorgeous BMW. And I have a very bad feeling about how the forth coming X3 will look...BMWs keep getting uglier and uglier these days.

People always comment on how you can sit on the split tailgates yet I can't think of a single situation where you would sit on the tailgate. Also I hate how it plays fake sounds through the speakers. I'd rather put up with the 4 cylinder diesel (although I'd avoid the 4 cylinder diesel anyway).

I would anyway buy this car over the Stupid range rovers. I had a Jaguar xf and ranger over sport till last year. I faced so many quality issues in the range rover that I had to sell it by the end. I still have the jaguar xf, and has no problems, atlesst much better than range rover. Done 60,000 miles on the jag... On the other hand my brother owns a BMW x5 2013, and he has done 50,000 miles. We totally love it. Its one of the best suvs we have owned. I'm planning to get a Porsche cayenne or a Mercedes instead of the range rover(shit car) can anyone suggest which one should I? I think this bmw x5 is a brilliant car. Love it to every bit.
