Test drove a couple (ix50,60m), quietness is on par with new model s, better than my 22MY. concern is space, no frunk, backseat is smaller than I thought, given it’s a x5 sized sav

You both must be deaf. I can hear the wind and tire noise on the iX. There is no way of getting around it. In a few months, it will develop the inevitable creaking from interior parts. Being electric just enhances the sounds even more so.
