About 3 months ago, me and my family were looking for such an SUV (we're a family of six). We looked everything in the range (no pun intended) of Range Rover to GLS to LX570. I can safely say, that the X7 is comfortably the best (not perfect) of the lot. The build quality is excellent, excellent standard features, the best to drive, packed full of tech, has proper third row seating where I could sit comfortably (I'm 5'10 by the way) and just has an unmistakable road presence that can only be appreciated once you see it in person. So, we bought it. However, go for the X5 if you don't need a proper 7 seater. It returns a better value for money.

Well, it’s not actually the grill that has grown disproportionately large in size but rather it’s the headlamps that has been trimmed to a size which makes the grill look hideously large. I once saw the X7, facelifted 7 Series G11 and new 4 Series in person. All I can say is that the grilles actually don't look that bad as everyone on the internet makes them out to be. I know everyone's gonna disagree with me, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with Johnny and I think SUVs are becoming unnecessarily large and showy. The worst of this I think is “performance” SUVs and honestly the segment needs to be cut back. BMW has 7 SUVs in its range. Why? 3 is really what’s required as you get a small, med and large and that’s it. Also as a side note we’re all about saving the planet and stopping climate change. Why are we all buying SUVs? Especially with the higher fuel consumption and prices? I just don’t understand it.
