I really really like this car especially in this spec. Convertible, RWD, manual, pretty, fast. All good. I think I’ll get one on 5 years after the first owner is done and it’s $40K. 👍🏼

I pulled up behind a Z4 the other day and was like….this thing is gorgeous! IMO the best looking BMW, just great classic lines where the designers have not gone crazy.

A red one of these rolled into the parking lot the last night of the Utah Adventure and it really caught my eye. Gorgeous car, easily my favorite current BMW, which I admittedly does not take much!

Not sure why they keep getting the weight of the car wrong, but the manual curb weight is listed as 3,514 lbs in the BMW Group Press Release, not 3,600 lbs. I recently purchased a 2025 manual and it is a great car. Very fast, handles great and much more usable than the 2008 Z4 M I had for 16 years, which was much more of a track oriented car.

@@getdealtwithquick Our 2008 Z4M was great fun, but most of the S54 engine's power was made higher in the rev range. It made 262 ft lbs of torque at 4,900 rpm. It was great to wind out, but for most driving at lower rpms on public roads wasn't really that fast. The other issue was that when you did get it going at higher rpms, you were also going very fast which again isn't always ideal on public roads. It also rode very hard. In Pennsylvania we have a lot of expansion joints on highways and it would literally feel like it was crashing over every one of them. Despite this, we enjoyed the car on the right roads for a very long time. We test drove a Z4 M40i and it was much more comfortable over rougher roads even in Sport mode. It also makes maximum torque of 369 ft lbs at 1,800 rpm so it pulls very hard pretty much through the rev band without having to feel like you have to constantly wind it out. We ordered a manual in July and took delivery in October. It currently has less than 1,200 miles so we are keeping it under 4,500 rpm for now, but it is very willing to rev and pulls hard from low rpms.

The Emira definitely feels more unique and special to drive than the Z4. But obviously convertible adds a different element here. Would depend on the preferences of the driver. Todd would always pick the Emira for steering feel and mid engine handling, but most would get as much or more fun from the Z4. Thanks for watching!

Hello, I recently drove the M240i manual... I wasn't a fan of the 1st to Reverse transition, where all you need to do is just kind of "push harder" to go into Reverse, no extra ring pull or shove down or anything. On Camaros and Tacomas this leads to accidentally hitting the wrong gear, especially when the bushing (or whatever) wears down. Does this gearbox have the same issue? I know it is apparently ZF whereas I thought M240i was Aisin. But, I'm having difficulty finding answers. Any thoughts? Thanks for listening, and for the channel.

This is a BMW thing. They don’t do a lock out ring on reverse, only the “push harder” set up. Weve had this on every BMW manual we’ve ever driven. It doesn’t seem to wear out, and you get used to it, but We agree that having a physical lockout is better. Thanks for watching.

you guys are contradicting yourselves a little in your criticism of the base Boxster's value; it's a great car, and I seem to recall you raving about it and the base Cayman in prior comparison tests/reviews.

We’re guessing you’re referencing our comparo of the base cayman and base C8. They ended up very close because of size differences and handling. But, we also pointed out how very base and unspecial the base Cayman feels inside. Meanwhile, the base z4 lost against a base boxster with a big price difference. In this case, For the same money, this z4 is loaded, with excellent handling and much more power while feeling the same size as the Boxster both inside and out. Thanks for watching!

Definitely looks great, but was a disappointment to drive. Manual box implies sports car, but with engine sitting squarely over the front axle-line, the dynamics were sad, to say the least

Please take a trip to Munich and witness the broom closet BMW allows Toyota to remap the ZF transmission from. Then, go to Graz and witness Magna build the Z4 and the Supra. But wait, Toyota developed the Supra and the Z4, right? And the Z4 exists because of the Supra? How about BMW designed the Z4, Magna bolts on a Supra body kit. And Toyota remaps the Supra spring rate. Oh, and BMW still only allows the Supra a 2010 version of...wait for it...iDrive 5? Or, is it 4? Gotta love the Supra. Just get a 440. Hilarious.

I love everything about this car EXCEPT the front end. Way too much overhang and viewed from the front it looks too wide and the grille styling looks really old and not updated. PAUL! I've seen you experiment with sketches and computers updating styling on existing cars. I CHALLENGE you to give us some of your car artistry on the Z4 and freshen up the front end! Thank you! 🙏
