Well I have a Ford f250 4x4 Outlaw... I'm old and old school. But I also have an 06 E85. Wish I'd seen your video earlier. Hadn't started the Roadster for a few months and then put a charger on battery in trunk like I would any of my old Chevys, Fords or Dodges. I have a 04 XJ that I charged in battery and never thought a thing about it. Jumped it from under hood finally battery wouldn't hold a charge. Roadster ran a bit but then had to jump again and is in degrade now but not all the troubles are lit up. Ordered a Topdon. I'm learning but hoping I haven't did the computer or programming in. I have one ( different make) but use it on my Porsche cayman s. And my BMw 4 series 420msport coupe 2020 ..used it on my Porsche but not my bmw as battery is new .. but your right most cars today have complicated electronics .. and thease units are well worth the money ..,

DAMNNN. Im one that found out too late lol im in the current “crank no start”. Spark is slow and intermittent and transmission code on my e60, after car sitting for 3 weeks, because changing driveshaft mount and battery had died. I crossed it a charger directly to battery 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Yes, I’m so glad I watched this video, you are the man brother, I own a 2011 328i xdrive n51 e90, I have a trouble code for IBS missing, I actually purchased all of the battery cables, the power distribution box and the yellow and black wire that connects to the positive terminal, I am wondering if once I replace everything is there any other procedures to be performed besides battery registration? Gotta be honest, I've been trickle charging my e60 from the trunk for weeks at a time and for years without any issues. I always jumped from the hood, but I didn't trust my trickle charger to withstand hood temperatures, so it's in the trunk. Maybe the trickle charger doesn't really put out enough current to make a difference.

I also have a trickle charger wired to the battery on the positive side and chassis grounded. The terminal is connected before the IBS and the dealership actually installs them this way in my area as an option. With the cold climate, you will get a battery drain error with the glow plugs running continuously. The charger is pretty much needed for diesels.

Watched the whole vid now, so the battery charger go at the front terminal too. I have a 6 series 2017 that sits in the garage more than on the road, so I fitted a Ctek trickle charge lead to the rear and pug it in occasionally. To keep the alarm from running the battery low. So far no had any issues. Should I remove them and connect to the front then???

Cheers Dean, just ordered this, I was going to purchase the noco 2000 which is the equivalent to this. After some light research on both of them I have chosen the js 2000 topdon as it has the better crocodile jump leads, more flat starts and competitive price compared to the noco. I probably won't need it as I have just replaced the battery on the E60 but have a feeling the other half may need it on her 1 series 👍

Hi dean I’ve just brought a 325d e92 and just before I brought it the former keeper put a new battery on it, two days after my owner ship I had light after light coming in the dash, looks like a Xmas tree now, first was dtc abs and parking break lights then tpm messages and now seat belt and airbag light. I’m not sure if he tried jumping it with the old battery because previous keeper won’t reply to my messages, would my issues be related to maybe jumping it the wrong way or something to do with the new battery? Hi gentlemen, need ur help plz. E60 530d m57 engine, getting a hard start once engine is hot it just swings and doesn't start. Fuel rail pressure is to low on start up, the momentum I spray some quick start in the intake it fires up and runs smooth. I've already replaced 3 bad injectors but still have the same problem. Any idea as to what could be the cause?? Ur advice is much appreciated. Thanks

They are both the same from what TOPDON have told me. Just a bigger battery but there isn’t much difference in power output they both do the same thing. So there isn’t any difference I listed that one as it’s cheaper more affordable then the JS3000 and not everyone will need that big heavy one that’s more to jump 5.0-7.0 trucks. As we are only jumping a BMW Js2000 is perfectly fine and more then enough.

Exactly my friend that’s exactly why I wouldn’t link it ridiculous price. Js2000 is all we need for BMW realistically. I’m glad you found the other video useful as it’s helping a lot of people as people didn’t realise why there battery chargers never got to full 100% charged and that’s why. Because the fuel pump will prime everytime the key goes near the car and is not locked and put to sleep

No problem my friend I know the JS2000 is perfectly fine and topdon assured me to link that one as nobody really needs the JS3000 yes it’s nice to have the extra battery power but then Isit really needed ? Not really if the car struggles to crank on the first jump then it means there is another problem bigger then a dead battery.

Unfortunately I’m not allowed to tell you that. But what I will say is TOPDON are the leaders and I been working with them for 2 years and love all there products therefore that’s why I reccomend them over anybody else. This isn’t about being paid this is about doing what’s right for the BMW community and helping them this is purely advise and what is the right way of doing things not selling a product. Many people may already have one of these and some will not, some may not even be aware they need to do this and some will. But I’m here purely to stop the confusion about what’s wrong and what’s right as many people don’t read the owners manual on BMW to know these things.

It’s the same thing my friend no different only a bigger battery the JS2000 is perfectly fine for your car. The JS3000 is more for 5.0 7.0 trucks and big vehicles the 2000 is all we need for BMW if I’m honest and does all the same functions as the JS3000 for cheaper

Would BMW owners be the DIY type if it wasn’t for so many videos on KZbin ? I highly doubt it very much the only reason they buy them is because of so much information on KZbin. Porsche guys yes they are the DIY type very very much so, the reason you don’t see much of it is simple. There isn’t anyone who’s experienced enough to do the videos to know the cars well enough hence no videos because there is nobody to copy unlike BMW channels everyone copy’s everybody and remakes everything that it’s so diluted. It’s good you ask that as my 997 will hit the big views as many people are buying them right now and people work on them all winter restoring them ready for summer for track use so I know it will get good views. The only reason you can’t see that is there are no videos to compare it too. Let me be clear here when I come to KZbin 2 years ago nobody was getting the views for N52 but I did just that and look where I am now. So hope that answers your question I can say this when my Porsche Channel takes off I don’t think I will be doing BMW anymore as it’s way played out by everybody and hence why everyone gets a BMW as they feel comfortable anyone with no experience can own one with KZbin. Take KZbin away from people and let’s see how many of these people own a BMW on the road the percentage would drop massively. I will state I already have very very good contacts in the Porsche industry already from the biggest Porsche suppliers in the Uk who are routing for me and want me to make it as they need somebody on here for collaborations and someone who fixes them not just talks about them. I been working with porsche guys for the last year now and they all will be advertising my channel for me and are very very pleased I come over as I have high experience and, because bmw is so complicated a porsche is a piece of cake for me. And they saw this channel and want me to become big all the forums now know who I am and are pleased and are very very welcoming to say the least and are a very close nit community who are dying for someone to focus on the brand.

That’s fine I appreciate that my friend but can I just say this channel doesn’t relate to just N52 please understand that. There is much else to do apart from the N52 and I will be back with that car at some point at the end of the month so not worry about that. Unfortunately this is the videos I have to do like everyone else, and unfortunately this old advise is not old to those that have just subscribed let me just say I still get comments everyday and messages asking this same thing to which many don’t watch every video to find it. Therefore, making these videos helps the new subscribers who don’t know any of this your talking as if I’m making these videos every month which is simply not the case. Unfortunately you can’t please everyone and I learned that early on that’s why I continue to do what I do and the reason I’m now driving Porsches and after Xmas my 997 will be on the channel also which is the year project of a rebuild. That’s what these videos have lead up too where I am today in such a short time. N52 is over played by everyone and people remaking my videos and diluting the content on KZbin BMW is too diluted as there is too much information on them to copy and follow. Me putting new information is what encourages more people to think they can remake and copy what you do. That’s why I went over to porsche as there is NO channels and NO information out there for them cars hence people don’t drive them and why people go for BMW because KZbin makes them confident porsche isn’t for the amateur person as such. It’s aimed at people who already are experienced in such cars and don’t need to rely on a video to help them fix a car. That’s why I have gone to porsche for that simple reason which just like N52 I can reach a wide and far audience and capitalise on something many ain’t done.
