13,500-14,000 ft trains with a 3X2X1 DPU consist configuration is a normal thing over the Stampede Sub, two grain or a grain and oil trains together.

While cool to watch, PRS trains roll by as crews sit at home. I don’t see a end to it either.

Haven't been to Stampede Pass in a long time. Great action up there.

@Traveling Tom It's been busy the past three to four years, with doubling up of the trains and all of the jointed mainline rails are finally gone, the tie gang are arriving in two weeks for new mainline ties between Easton and Ellensburg, there was mention of bringing back CTC to both Stampede and Yakima Valley subs.

Why did the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad diesel freight trains work the railroad night shift and the railroad day shift?
@travelingtom9234 жыл бұрын
They work all hours and days. Depends on the time of year.
@mbart51134 жыл бұрын
Traveling Tom How does it happen?
@travelingtom9234 жыл бұрын
@@mbart5113 They call you two hours before you start your shift. So you really can not be anywhere two hours or more away from the rail yard. It's a horrible job. One day you are working 7AM to 5PM. The next time 1:00 AM to 9AM. You get days off but you never know what days you are getting. I would never go back to that life.

I connect my giant audio system via Bluetooth and it sounds like the trains are running through my house. Feels like it too.

I was wondering the same thing. If it was running it was sure quiet.

Was the ACe even running? I'm on mobile and I couldn't hear it
@mattmoschkau844 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. It’s suppose to be online, under FRA rules it performs DPU and EOT duties since it’s the rearmost unit on the train. It is possible it wasn’t under load or the camera and mic angle just made it seem quiet.
