Thanks. The long hot summer is drawing to a close. Under 100 today!

Good to see you back. I've been doing the BLM remote site service for a month plus now and got a great set of sites I'm going to out in the Harquahala mountains by Wenden also Vulture Mine, and the ones up the i-17 I'm doing bloody basin and badger springs. Finding all kinds of great roads and desolate lands.

There's a mine out fairly near Wenden I would like to explore called the Linda mine. Are you familiar with it?

@@W7DSY I will see what I can find out more on it. I have a friend who works for Fertizona with quite the historical knowledge and I'll let you know this week what I find.

Just a name so far. But her memorial can only be seen from the tracks.

Nice to see a posting from you, Hidden Arizona. Good to be back "out in the field." Was thinking, "Can't read the message-of-the-day", and, bang, it pops up on the screen. Thank you. Looks like your new Jeep is set up for wilderness exploration. Very good. If the rattlesnake situation is as described, I would have been walking around with a shotgun, just in case. A golf ball? Wow, somebody really hit into the rough! Seeing those first two graves, would have passed them off as merely piles of rock--if giving them any thought at all. Thanks for taking the time to track then down. Were it in good shape, that Santa Fe can would be worth a few bucks on the railroadiana market. Do you know the story behind the third grave? Guess I will DuckDuckGo it. Thanks again, Hidden Arizona, see you next time.

(12:39) Third marker apparently goes to someone named Janiece L. Reiss (born October 28, 1967 and died May 30, 2000). I'd sure like to know more about the cause of death.

Interesting find. I’ve come across a few gravesites along railroad lines in the great state of California.

Yeah Sean, wish I knew more, but I'm afraid 'more' is lost to the ages, at least for now. The marker for Janice Reiss is also curious, since it can't be seen exc. from a passing train.

GPS coordinates for those graves please? I work on the Phoenix sub and would like to know what milepost those graves are near.

I didn't keep the exact co-ords, but N 35.0775 and W 112.4089 should be close enough if you do some scouting around.

@@W7DSY Thank you. Have you ever thought about exploring around the old Santa Fe Prescott & Phoenix route through Prescott? Particularly between Skull Valley and Prescott?

Must be somewhere between Ash Folk and Chino Valley, AZ along current AZ 89/Old US 89. Probable closer to Drake. I have a friend who lives just on the other side of the trestle in Paulden (north side).

You're spot on. About 4 miles below Meath by milepost, above Drake maybe 5-6 miles. That old highway is a trip in itself.

Good find, as much as a grave-site can be. Really digging your WJ, what lift and tires are you running? And what is the antenna on the front bumper? I know, I'm just full of questions, but GCs and radios are a thing.
@W7DSY3 жыл бұрын
Thx Mike. The lift is Iron Rock and about 3" or so. Bought it used, and it wasn't done right, so I'm working out the kinks. The antenna is just the am/fm radio antenna, but the camera was on the roof, so it looks like it's somewhere else (wide angle lens). Tires are cheapo Vietnamese 265 75-16. When they wear out I'll get something different.

@@W7DSY Oh, that makes sense. Guess I'm use to the camera being on the dash in the Toyota. Got my grandson to help me put a 2" Rough Country lift on my '04 WJ, new shocks, adjustable track bar and a set of Thai 245/75-16 mudders round it out. He's turning into a pretty good wrench for his age, I let him take the lead and tell me what to do on mechanical projects. He asked me awhile back didn't I have a couple of CBs laying around, him and his buddies have discovered old school technology. Set him up with a Cobra 29 and 102" whip for his '04 Ranger 4X4, teaching coax routing, mount grounding and checking SWR along the way. So now he's putting a Cobra 19 in his sister's '03 Taco 4X4. It's funny, they're both the same model as their trucks. Love your videos, keep making them.

@@ekimp252 Thanks, Mike. This WJ is sort of a low-key project. Today or tomorrow it gets a new bake line to the rear diff. They used the old one which was too short, so instead of getting a longer one they just unbolted the original and left the metal section hanging in midair. Can't leave that alone, wouldn't be prudent.
