"But no one entertains the thought that maybe God does not believe in you." One of the most powerful fucking lines I've heard in a very, _very_ long time. I was raised a Catholic and am an Atheist now. However, if I'm wrong and there _is_ such a thing as a Lord sitting on high, I would imagine them to be very disappointed in their children.

His song, Rant., is another masterpiece about the pitfalls of catholicism. Plus, it's a fantastic example of his rapping skills. Highly recommend. He touches on that praying point you made.

Rant is my favorite bit by Bo Burnham. The dude is so talented. It's like George Carlin and Robin Williams had a kid who grew up a millennial

Awesome reaction dude! Your breakdowns are always solid. There’s a BUNCH of Bo tracks that I think you’d dig: -Rant. (Not the Kanye rant, just rant. It’s in the same vein as this one) -Sad -Left Brain, Right Brain -repeat stuff -Eff -Nerds -Hell of a Ride -Words Words Words -Straight White Male -Country Song -Lower Your Expectations -How the World Works -Problematic -Goodbye -The Future -1985 -The Chicken Keep ‘em coming! Cheers

'Oh My God' is a better, earlier version of it. The lyrics are harsher, but truer for it.

So great the way he starts with humor, then slaps you with so much profundity.

I enjoy a lot of your reactions but your Bo reactions are my favorite. ❤️ Edited to add: Please consider doing Bo's "Eff" and/or "Words, Words, Words". Both are old school Bo with lots of clever word play.

Your point about what people pray for, his song Rant (not Kanye Rant, that’s a different song) is a bit before this, it’s a rap and is often overlooked. One of my favorites though

If you haven't yet, I highly suggest Bo Burnham Rant. (Not the Kanye Rant). He takes down the church and mentions praying to god for frivolous stuff.

Awesome reaction. I love this one too. "The Chicken" is another really beautiful song for sure. Would love for you to check out "Oh Bo", it's not deep or meaningful whatsoever but the video and the song is absolutely hilarious imo. I think someone commented before he still cringes thinking about making that song (true or not) yet I still love it because its hilarious. Fire reactions my man.

Great reaction man and I believe in God but I’m not a fan of religion. When governments can’t divide people in ways, religion steps in to help divide them even more. So, for that reason, i chose to follow and focus on God.

3:55 Dude, watch Bruce Almighty. It's a great movie, and pretty much that exact premise: God having to sort out every ridiculous prayer made and trying desperately not to screw the world up in the meantime.
@Itsant332 жыл бұрын
George Carlin actually did a bid on that about how it's a ridiculous ritual to pray to god. Because so many people even and usually in the case of opposing factions will pray to God so that they will have the preferred results whether it be war or sporting events and he worded it perfectly: if both sides are praying to God then someone's going to end up disappointed.

Since you love Bo so much, please give Tim Minchin a try.....if you haven't already.....start with "Prejudice" and go into it cold cuz it will be better.......he plays piano excellently, has a nice singing voice and has the same kind of humor, but he grew up in Australia and was born in England.....he honestly is hilariously funny, very smart and extremely talented. A few of his songs poke fun at organized religion and i don't have one either, like you, so just be prepared......LOL.....don't let his stage persona influence you.

He hears all u pray but he will only give u what he knows you truly need and he knows what u desurve and the time will soon cone thst. Every none believer will see what he's told us and as he said it's not just what u do makes a sin it why u do it that's what makes the sin I've got that from him he is a demanding god and out it your arageonts he will not show you till u see him not hear you for he already knows your reasons

I get what you mean by frivolous prayer.. But if you think about it, the people that would pray to win the lottery are poor. And would therefore have their lives vastly improved if that thing were to happen. I’m not religious but to me this seems like a worthwhile prayer
@ahh_yes_mr_bax2 жыл бұрын
The fact that anyone would pray at all is nuts. “God has a plan!!” Oh yeah so is god going to change everything for you? God beliefs never make any sense and im surprised i believed such obvious nonsense for such a huge part of my life 😅

This is from the first special I had ever seen from Bo Burnham “What”. This guy is a genius. The most poignant comedian I have ever seen. This is a comedian that can make you cry with the sheer perfection of his wit and delivery of truth. You should definitely watch the whole special when you get a chance. It is amazing. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5vGZq2fmJmkaKM
