Maybe it's like they're finally realizing in MMA now that cutting just makes you gassed out and have a cramped up stomach, so weighing 10-20 lbs more doesn't really matter since it's about skills and cardio too?

@@rico14 Lol I was a big time judoka and went to many competitions for many years (I'm only 24 now but don't compete anymore), and I did wrestle for 2 years and I started hating folkstyle, I was about to quit completely and then a friend and teammate told me about an upcoming freestyle tournament. I asked what that was and he told me, I said, "Sure fine I will come. But just to watch." So I went and saw some really solid ranked HS and college wrestlers going at each other and I immediately realized I hated folkstyle because it was not the style of wrestling for me, and I realized I loved freestyle a lot more.

It seemed like Bo let it stay close. Moore nearly ties it in the third but Bo wiggles free. With about 30 seconds left Bo flips the switch, gets the takedown and locks up the nearside cradle. Perhaps out of respect for Moore he just holds his position instead of going for the pin like he did in the dual.

Watching the two of them run into the arena, it was night and day in terms of their builds and athleticism. Obviously Kollin Moore is very athletic but watching them run in was likely watching a brick saunter vs a soccer player sprint. Bo's movement is just freer... less hindered by muscle despite having plenty of it. True athlete. Probably could have been good at just about anything if he wanted to be.

@bullyfaguireproblem is in an actual fight a boxer stands literally ZERO chance against a wrestler. That’s something that every boxer & boxing fan is forced to live with now, in 2023 everyone knows this and the general public know it now too. Bo Nickal literally destroys every single boxer that exists. Period. You can say “it’s gay” all you want, but the truth is, Bo could make your favorite Boxer his wife, ones the hammer & one is the nail, the boxer will always be the nail… now that’s “gay” 😂

I rooted against Nickal as an Ohio State fan and a fan against college monopolies- but I gotta say that Nickal was special in college. I mean, I think Snyder's feats were much more historical- but Snyder never quite made it look as easy. Moore wrestled a decent match here and had opportunities- but Nickal was just too tough to finish a takedown. I think Nickal is more impressive than Nolf. I honestly think that Hidlay was robbed against Nolf. Winning with an injury was impressive, but still....he shouldn't have won in my opinion. Yianni pulled a cradle out of his but against Meredith and was gifted a win verse McKenna. I can't really think of any guys who made winning look as easy as Nolf- Even Retherford and Steibber had to work for it at times. I will say that Spencer Lee is on a different level. I'm not sure how he will fare in international style, but he could beat any wrestler in the world at folk style at his weight.

You don’t know know the level the Zain Retherford was at coming out of high school. Junior world team member, cadet team member, Powerade finalist. State champ, you name Zain’s done it. Bronze medalist in 2019 (should’ve won it but he just hadn’t fully grasped the rules of freestyle until now, 2022). So no, Zain dominated everyone. Beat Sorensen like it was easy. Imma just say it, I don't like it when Bo Nickal helps his competitors up despite them not taking it. I know that sounds petty, but I don't think it's a sportsmanship move. I will agree sometimes when a guy will actually accept his hand to get up, and that's respectful, but when they refuse it, Bo will go out of his way to pick them up at the hip or something awkward. At that point, I think it's just a domination move. Some examples I've seen are him against Moore at their meet and Hokit and round 2 of the NCAAs

You might be looking too Much into it. I think he’s just being sportsmanlike. But keep in mind it’s a combat sport where one man is literally attempting to physically dominate another, that’s the truth. There’s genuine conflict Going on in there and it’s in a competitive environment, so even IF Bo was kinda “big brothering” his opponents I don’t have a problem with it.

Thanks everyone very entertaing. One thing to say but first. That to know a trick is better to know a move to that to learn your own move is valuable insight that you can't know how to make it up. That you need to know that you can make your own move like a Glide dropping suplex. Lastly how very much smarter like a flying in suplex on the mat. And how cool is that but you'll never expect to be able to take that is n to ultimately know now that know college names are difficult but to know everyone's college like OSU Oak State University and not too confusing much harder a name to know very simple.

Jesus is Fake would it just take too long? Or just be stale mate of not trying to be pinned? To the casual fan, this is hard to watch. Did i grow up on mats? No, but ive been rolling a few years and not completely ignorant to combat. Am i dumb? yes. Dont you guys want this sport to grow?? Growth would eventually bring more money to these guys that kill themselves for years with no real fiscal return ... look how BJJ is slowly evolving with EBI ... or polaris.

@awesomeguynamedjon it's not hard to not get pinned, it would be easy to just stall If he even got close, matches would never end, and they have hundreds of them to go through at these tournaments so yeah, you are stupid
