Don't hit your snakes with a marker. If it starts to crawl it then just put your hand underneath it and "scoop" it back into it's cage.

@EpicMorph6 жыл бұрын
i cant guarantee you a boa will stay at a certain size.. but when he gets to medium rats push to every 14-20 days or so. this should maintain weight and growth.. this should keep him around 4.5-5ft!

That wont make a dwarf snake. That just makes it take longer to get to max size

Hey man. What are your thoughts on boas vs ball pythons. Do boas have any problems with temperament? I'm thinking a ball python might be a little too docile.
@EpicMorph5 жыл бұрын
I don't want to sound bias, but bas 100% better then balls... I do own both.. temperament wise boas are very easy.. in 10 years of keeping boas I've gotten bit maybe 3x and from babies, babies can be fiesty at first but will calm down... boas def. a better choice man even when handling they are more active!
@stevem95295 жыл бұрын
@@EpicMorph honestly thanks so much for getting back to me. I would like to raise one from baby to adult. Bites and being defensive isn't too much of an issue for me, though I would like to try and get one with as nice a temperament as possible. I'm just struggling to find advice on how to house it from baby all the way to adult. Should I use a tub system until it's ready for a viv, or just buy it a small viv for now? The max size I can fit is 4 foot x 2 foot but I can't see it needing that until sub adult at least. With that being said, what boas do you see regularly not exceed approx 6 feet in length? So sorry for all the questions but Im just trying to find the best advice I can. Any answers or advice you have, I'll be grateful. Even if it's other vids you've done. I'm subbing anyway because you at least replied to me

@@stevem9529 so tecnically any boa constrictor can reach 6+ ft... if you want Colombian blood, you can get a male and after 2 years when he starts eating medium rats.. keep him in medium rats every 14-20 days.. that snake will not reach 6ft nor girth like females do... or you can go the other rout and get a Central American boa which only grows 4ft. you just not going to find a lot of the colors Colombias have and I find Central American boas to be a bit more aggressive.. you can always text me talk boas when ever 240-316-2507

@@EpicMorph soo yeah I ended up getting a baby female Brazilian rainbow. Where I live there were sand boas and leopard boas, but I don't think they quite reach the size I'm after. thats a very tough question.. is she/he colombian blood or CA? 35" should be over a year old, almost 2 years old.. if she was fed average.. idk about weight on boas i never weight them the we we can tell if a boa is weight healthy is body type (muscle)... its really hard to tell how old because i have seen boas 3.5 years old that size just because feeding wasnt the best.... but idk if it helps that snake should be 1.5 - 2.5 years old..

Snake Legend / lover lol yea the genes in these are really good the stuff you can make with them are market right now about 3500-4000.. I should have more affordable stuff in the future tho.

If I went for a boa it would have to be a male. Females just get way too big lol and I couldn't have a vivarium larger than 4 foot. I keep rat snakes myself
@alexanderNorseCode5 жыл бұрын
and you keep them locked away in small draws ? and why do you hit them with the pen ??? Doesn't seem right to me
@davidlivesay42403 жыл бұрын
I always hear you have to get an enclosure the size of your snake, ex: 6’ snake = 6’ enclosure and then I see this. Makes no sense to me. Or maybe they stop growing because they’re in a little 20 gallon tub. Sad.

Did you also heard in the video I said... new stuff was coming with in days.. smfh..
@davidlivesay42403 жыл бұрын
@@EpicMorph doesn’t matter because every one with a rack system keeps their snakes in too small of enclosures then wants to preach about getting a proper size enclosure for your snakes. To each their own my guy. Nice snakes. I wish you the best now shake that. Buy bye

Thanks for the growth but hitting a snake when it’s literally not even trying to bite is just abusive behavior and if you don’t like the size of boa constrictors then don’t get them simple. ☠️

You should never hit your snake in the head I would strike at you to if you hit me he wasn't even coming out of the cage my snake always tries to get back out and I just pick her up and put her in the cage

Very true lol. My female boa always curves her neck into the S shape but has never strike me before. But I get nervous af when I see her doing it when I’m holding her or about to pick her up.

the tubs and the water dishes are way too small for the size of snake you have in them. The snake shouldn't be longer than half of the perimeter of the tub it is in. and the water dishes should be large enough for most of the body to fit it. I feel so bad for those guys...
@EpicMorph7 жыл бұрын
Dont feel bad they are doing very well eating and growing, many of them have already been moved up! thank you for your concern!

Epic Morph Hey, I'm not trying to put you down. Just by seeing this video, I hope you understand that it looked like you were keeping them in those tubs. If you aren't, Great! I'm just trying to share my knowledge of snakes-not to make you seem like a bad guy or anything because I don't think you are.

I know little to nothing about snakes but it's sad seeing these beautiful creatures being kept in these plastic drawers. They're living breathing beings, those drawers are for organization not for living creatures
@mattamos63576 жыл бұрын
Corinne Walker "I know little to nothing about snakes...." exactly that. Many keepers house snakes in tubs. Please educate yourself on the subject before you comment on it

do you own any pets? or eat meat? and dont be sad for the snakes, in the wild even larger snakes like to stay in small places they dont enjoy being in large open spaces it acualy really stresses them out, they also are nocturnal all they care about is eating and not being eaten in the wild, in captivity they have both of them so they are pretty happy, cant lie there are some owners who do snakes wrong but that goes for any pets/animals unfortunately, i personaly prefer vivariums myself but for a business like this is then tubs are fine as long as its the correct size and is cleaned, hope this lets you know alittle bit more into it and realise that these snakes all look and act healthy and normal

Corinne Walker in the wild they will get fucked he keeps them in the best place they wish with exact heating / humidity and food
@WeSleepForever916 жыл бұрын
Corinne Walker actually, many snakes prefer to be kept in small spaces like that. Certain species of snake in the wild will find a small space that they only just fit in and will curl up there for as long as possible, only moving to eat. They feel more secure and safe in small spaces where predators can’t get to them.
