Picking up my baby BRB this Friday. I'm so excited!
@crashingdown6814Ай бұрын
I have both BRB and a BCC, and i think it comes down to this : My BRB comes out, cruises around and goes back to his vivarium like a good boy, my BCC has been missing since christmas....

Been looking for this video. I already have both now, but this would've definitely been handy a year ago. 😂

I just love them all!!!

Brazilian rainbow boas are the most beautiful snakes, I agree! I adore their wild types most, I feel like most of their morphs don’t really highlight what makes them unique. They are already maxed out in beauty.
@mhebert350Ай бұрын
They're both great picks, although the rainbow boa still feel more of a novelty. It's exciting to see where the morphs will bring it but just like my ball python, I find the original to be the most beautiful
@JasonsExoticReptilesАй бұрын
I would agree with that!

Excellent video! I don't have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa but I love love love my Boa Imperators! So, they win in in my book.

Totally agree!

Great points and I agree with them. The BRB is always a stunning specimen with their iridescence.. I respect the morphs and they're beautiful BUT I'll always prefer their natural coloration.

Nothing against BRB's but I'm definitely a BI kind of person. Love the couple I have! Another excellent video, Jason. Keep it up!

I have them both, but I certainly have more BCI!

I think Guyana/Suriname boas look much nicer than BRBs. The fact that so many people are selectively breeding boas to look nicer (as opposed to just morph stacking) is why I became interested in them as opposed to the larger ball python market. I got into cornsnakes for the same reason. There are some stunning Miami and Okeetee phases.

I have one brb and two bi - an adult hypo and a juvenile hog island. My brb is almost never out in the day, so is invisible. Also, brbs need higher humidity: I've kept bi in inexpensive viv exotic vivs with no problems, but brbs need polypropelene enclosures, which are more expensive. My brb (female) doesn't feed from mid January until mid April, sometimes till early May, whereas bis feed like crazy - and are easily overfed. They are both amazing, but if I had to choose between them, it would have to be the bi.

If you where going to start a reptile breeding business from scratch starting today what animal would you choose to breed with?

Natural beauty to me goes to northern white lipped pythons. I've seen others with the oil slick iridescent look but the northern d'alberts got that champagne/sunrise look that I haven't seen with any other species

I ate this video up! I have a boa constrictor and a Brazilian rainbow boa. Both are gorgeous snakes! My Brazilian was harder to get eating on frozen thawed consistently whereas my Boa eats every time. That's the only check I disagreed with. The Brazilian is also a slow grower which might frustrate some people.
@JasonsExoticReptilesАй бұрын
I can see those points for sure! As a breeder, my BRBs are tanks when it comes to eating where my boas sometimes need a few live meals to get going.
@mrvwbug4423Ай бұрын
Rainbow Boas are also basically mini-Anacondas, they're in the same clade as Anacondas. Rainbows are also ungodly strong for their size, my baby CRB almost bent my feeding tongs a few weeks ago when he wrapped the tongs along with his dinner.
@theBOOTLEGGКүн бұрын
I think its almost a tie. I have one of each, and i must admit, my BRB wins, but not by much. Theyre both great eaters and will eat live or ft and they're easy to handle. My brb is older and ive had him for longer, so he's a bit more interactive with me than my bi, but I'm sure once she gets good and settled in, I'll see her more often. But it is really really hard to beat the iridescence of the brb. My bi has some iridescence over all of her body, but her tail is dark colored and VERY iridescent, but my brb shines in almost any light all over his entire body.

I have a Colombian Rainbow Boa and he's great, a little more forgiving in terms of humidity than the Brazilians, still has the amazing irridescence, and an amazing pattern (he's a wild type het leucistic), CRBs might also be one of the most stunning looking snakes in a leucistic morph because their scales literally look like pearls. He's also got a wonderfully chill personality and is a great handling snake even as a baby, he's better handling than any of my colubrids, also eats F/T like a champ. Wanting to add another boa to the collection, either looking at a Leopard Boa or getting a female leucistic CRB and consider breeding CRBs a few years down the road (though you certainly don't breed CRBs for the money, lucys can be found all day long for $300 at expos and wild types even with hets are usually under $100). If my male keeps his pattern and doesn't brown out like a lot of CRBs do then I might be more inclined to breed him.

I have common boa and cumbia rainboa I would say in my experience clumbia rainboas are bit more friendly in my experience they both great snakes
@rahiemcole4974Ай бұрын
it sounds like it comes down to preference imo nothing is better then a boa bci or bcc

Both cool snakes but BI are just incredible also a lap tech IMG boa crushes a brb in beauty BUT thats subjective. Imperator gang!!
@JasonsExoticReptilesАй бұрын
Natural beauty. It’s definitely subjective, but you can’t compare a labyrinth Aztec IMG. That’s a morph combo and not natural.

Rainbow boas give me anaconda/boa mix breed vibes.
@mrvwbug4423Ай бұрын
They really are mini-Anacondas, they're more closely related to Anacondas than Boa Constrictors. Epicrates genus (Rainbow Boas) is in the same clade as Eunectes genus (Anacondas), while the Boa Constrictors (BC, BI, BS, BO) are in a different clade.
@hurricanesherpsАй бұрын
Boa imperator all the way. Boas should get a second check for personality over Brazilians. I love my Brazilian but I never ever see her. However, if we are comparing intelligence, brb wins every day 😂
@mrvwbug4423Ай бұрын
I have a CRB and he's definitely very nocturnal, he also is the one who has use of the communal brain cell most of the time, definitely a bit more intelligent than my milksnake or kingsnake, kings/milks really all do share one communal brain cell haha. Though my milksnake definitely does the best "cute snek tricks" of the 3.
@hurricanesherpsАй бұрын
@mrvwbug4423 😂 I had a crb, they're definitely not on a level intellectually with brb but definitely cuter
