They have but it's my understanding that while we as a community could band together and help there's nothing to stop the bank from accepting the back payment and then a year or two from now turning around and doing the same thing all over again. As long as they won't put the loan in Tom's name he's not interested in playing their games anymore. So he decided to just start fresh.

I remember back in the mid-sixties or so, and hearing of Tom Crutchfield. He was in the military at their so-called venom for research lab in-I believe-Ft Knox, Kentucky. One of Tom’s associates had shared stories of him at that time and they all were impressed with his knowledge of reptiles. An icon in the Herp world! Tom C has been doing this professionally his entire life, perhaps over 55 years.

In the summer of 1989, while in law school, I bought my third Suriname boa from Tom. Wild caught like they all were back in the day. I was going off of Tom’s paper list of animals and prices that he used to send out. I described what traits I liked over the phone and he said “I’ve got one that I think you’ll like.” He was spot on. Gorgeous animal that may have been a Pokigron. Not sure where he was getting them from, however. Tom was a true gentleman and a straight shooter. Hope he has better days ahead!

Literally everyone in the reptile community loves and respects you so if money is hard you should make a KZbin channel you would make some really good money with all your amazing critters. And if it seems like too much work I’m sure you could find a volunteer to kind of run the show where you can just go about your normal days. I can imagine I speak for hundreds of thousands of people if not more that we’d love to see even just the day to days of feeding cleaning medicating etc etc your animals. Banks do it all the time the people just aren't famous like Tom. They did it to my daughter, she bought a house with double the property when she was 19, and when she was 24 they refused to take her payments and went to court and lost it to the bank. We found out they do it alot, and they almost always win.

They do this when theres a developer trying to buy up properties in an area. They can make more money off a developer buying the property at new rates, than to maintain an older mortgage.

I recently had to get rid of all my snakes due to cancer. My BCC female was as big as this one of Tom's. The sanctuary that took her said they'd never seen one as large as her in the 40 plus years they'd been in business. I'm beyond despondent & utterly gutted about losing my kids. Dying from cancer I could care less about but losing my reptile children is more than I can bear.

There’s a huge difference with the way Tom interacts with his animals and how Kenan does . Kenan seems like a great guy but appears terrified of most of his animals. I believe a lot of animals pick up on that nervous energy. Tom is calm and seems to understand how to communicate with his animals on a different level

Leave it to Wells Fargo... Mark my words: They've figured out this is prime real estate for subdivision to put up a bunch of mcmansions and/or a gated community. Each one a separate bloated mortgage for the bank to cash in on. Way more than the single payment that Tom is paying each month. So sad and sorry to hear this, but I'm glad Tom and his scaly family are able to relocate.

I know someone this exact thing happened to. I’m guessing the bottom line is that the amount of money his business partner paid for this is exponentially less than the (alleged) value today. That’s why the bank won’t transfer the mortgage. Maybe if Tom would have gotten a brand new mortgage…..but Florida property values are way over inflated since like 2020. They’re in the process of correcting right now, but not nearly enough. So Tom would have gotten absolutely raked over the coals if he would have gotten his own mortgage on this property. All those payments he made over the years would not count towards what is owed. I am wondering if something is going on in this area that prompted the bank to maybe take a high offer and decline any resolution with Tom. I’m so sorry Tom is going through this. He’s right to find a more permanent solution. Sometimes we don’t know when a coming change is for the best.

Crapfargo is so horrible and tried to take my friend's home years ago in a completely messed up situation that was completely on them. Absolutely disgusting they did what they did Tom didn't deserve this.
