Hello Everybody!
Welcome to my Channel. For today's video I wanted to tour you through my property. I live on about 3.5 acres, and I am so excited to build a garden!! There's only a small area that I've landscaped, so I thought it'd be fun to show you around and share all of my ideas for the garden. This winter has got me dreaming away!
I actually filmed this a few months ago back in December of 2021, so it's much colder and the snow is much thicker on the ground, but it's essentially the same space.
I really wanted to treat this tour like a garden journal so I can see the progress of the garden over the years. Hopefully you like joining me for a bit of a ramble and a tour of sorts.
Thanks so much for being here!
Much love,
Anna

Anna, I so love❤️ the land you live on and you have such wonderful ideas❤️❤️😊😃! I like the idea of having an orchard 🍎🍎 vegetable garden 🥕🍅🥦🌽, all those lovely colorful plants🌺🌸🌻, and even installing a beautiful babbling brook ! ! My Late Grandfather had about an acre of property in Pennsylvania. He grew the best Big boy tomatoes🍅 in the Summer and he also had a pear tree🍐🍐. I used to love picking off pears 🍐🍐and eating them fresh off his tree🍐🍐. My Late Grandfather also made pear sauce 🍐from his pears🍐. My Late Grandfather also had wild mint🌿🌿 growing on his property. And when my Brother and I were children, My parents went up to visit my Late Grandparents and my Late Father and my Brother and I would pick the fresh mint right off are Late Grandparents property. My Late Father would bring it home to where we lived and he would dry the leaves and make mint🌿🌿 iced tea in the Summer😊😊😊. Thank you Anna for sharing your really beautiful woodland property ❤️❤️❤️❤️! And your sweet adorable dog Georgie is really enjoying the snow❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!! And Anna, I would love to see your property in the Spring and Summer ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!!

Such a beautiful place-looks quite similar to our land in Western Washington just outside Seattle, with lots of trees, ferns, moss, birch & rocks! Definitely do have an arborist come check out the health of any surrounding trees tall enough to hit your home if they were to fall-we have to do that every few years. About 10 years ago, a huge evergreen behind our house suddenly crashed down in the middle of the night, completely destroying our large second story deck hubby built and missed hitting the roof just feet away from where we were sleeping in our third story bedroom by about 4 inches! It was terrifying to say the least, we were so lucky! Can't wait to see how you transform your land into an even more magical wonderland!

Oh my gosh!! That's so scary! I'm really glad you're all ok, but how sad!! We will definitely get someone to come out for a consultation about the trees.

Isn't it so satisfying and exciting to see your plants growing?! I love that feeling. I live on 5 acres and my husband and I have planted a lot! Grass, lavender, daisies, blue fescue. And I planted a ton of bulbs last Fall; irises, tulips, daffodils, allium, crocus, gladiolas and mini irises. Some of them have already grown two to three inches above the ground! 🌷 And, of course we're going to be doing a vegetable garden too. 😊🌽 There already was a plum and apple tree when we bought the property. We didn't get a chance to enjoy them though lol. The deer got to them before we did. But we added a couple pear trees! 🍐

Excellent question I was fairly certain they were in either the Sierra Nevada or Siskiyou Mts. and so made the assumption that the Birch Anna was talking about was a variety of Water Birch (Betula Occidentalis) but on closer inspection I think Paper Birch (Betula Papyrifera) is more likely, meaning they are probably in the Appalachian Mts. based on a number of factors. But I could be wrong Paper Birch is grown as an ornamental on the west coast and the two hybridize where their ranges overlap so who knows. 😋
