I wouldn't add garden slugs to your compost pile. There ARE some slugs that are great in the compost pile for breaking things down because they eat the dead stuff and NOT the live stuff... but they likely aren't the same kinds if slugs that are attacking your garden. And the right ones should find their way to your compost on their own.
I want to run through your veggie garden with a basket and grab everything! The vegetables you get in the grocery store just cannot compare. The taste and texture of home-grown is just so much better. I used to have a huge vegetable garden where I lived before and I miss it so much. I don't even have a lawn where I live now, lol.

I love that your vegetable patch is surrounded by trees. Mine is too. Do you have trouble with too much shade?

Beautiful garden-love the purple beans!! George loves peas, mine dogs love carrots😊 Any tips for growing the kale? Mine keeps getting eaten by cabbage Moth caterpillars- regardless of how much deer netting I wrap around them. Loved seeing Burt in the video too! You both have done tons of work and it is paying off beautifully🌸

Aw!! Thanks so much! Georgie loves carrots too. Tips for growing kale... I would try planting it amongst my ornamentals. Sometimes that confuses the cabbage-whites and they won't lay their eggs on it. Otherwise, just plant tons so you can share some with them. Also, grow it on before planting so it's big and strong enough to withstand some nibbles. Hope that helps!

I'm so happy for you! Your hard work over the years is such an inspiration! It's been over 100 for 21 days here and I started to give up hope. Its been loss after loss. Out of my 20 plants I planted in March, I haven't gotten anything, but this evening I had 5 cherry tomatoes turn red & have a zuchini that's over 4 inches! It's little victories that lead us to big ones!

Lovely garden. I read recently that putting coffee grounds around your plants can deter slugs organically (local coffee shops can save their grounds for you too). I also tried milk and baking soda in water (found on internet) to treat powdery mildew on a new rose and it worked.

Japanese Beetles have been goin crazy over here - planted 3 weeping cherry blossom trees a month ago and they've become outposts for the beetles :( Luckily the beetle bag solution works and the birds have been getting fat. Beautiful garden!

Same here in north GA. We planted apple and peach trees this Spring and the Japanese beetles nearly killed them. I have collected over FORTY full bags of beetles so far! F.O.R.T.Y!!! 🪲🤮

Your garden has such a lovely fairytale feel to it. I loved the way you whispered about the hosta's incase any slugs overheard and made a beeline for them!😆
