My uncle had a little log building that had been covered with board and battens. By the time I was old enough to notice it, it was junk storage(mini bikes and butchering kettles) on the left side and smoke house on the right. I noticed on one visit that the battens were molded on the edges. I thought “that is really cool that someone took the time to dress that up when they put the siding on!” Sadly it washed away in the flood of 93.

The same way you would do board and batten on a one story structure. Check out pictures of Moriah (shown in the video) on Handmadehouses.com and you will see an example of how that can be done tastefullly.

@@jacobfarms650 You are welcome. If you don't have long enough pieces you can flash add flashing between two pieces.

@@jacobfarms650 Basically yes. My advice would be to minimize the need to do it as much as the budget allows and to try to do it in places where it will be least noticeable, such as the least viewed side of the home.
