Great video! Our family just purchased an NXT22. We will be pulling a lot of people that range in weight from 130-210ish pounds. Would like to focus the board more for the riders ranging 160-190. Also hoping for a board that can accommodate both surf and trick style riders. I know this is a tall order but any suggestion?

Great video, well explained. I have an 04 Wakesetter 21XTI, so it’s direct drive, but the seating design makes it hard to weight easily unless I just fill it with people, although I can get a surfable (though small) wave. I’m about 165 pounds, what board would you recommend? TIA

Awesome, Mitch, thanks! Curious if you could expand on lengths. I ride a phase 5 model X smaller version but I am 195lbs and I feel like my nose dives too often

Can you do a video on fin setup? Why would you want a thruster fin vs a 4 fin setup or visa versa? Great content. Love our Ri 257

This is a great suggestion! We just posted a fin video this morning, but I don't think we had that info included. I will take note of this and add it to my video list!

I’m new to the wake surfing, I have a 2013 Moomba outback V that has stock ballast which I believe is about 1200 pounds trying to gauge if my boat is considered a small wave or a medium wave? Average size rider is going to be about 150 to 180 pounds. I was looking at a hyper lite board that is 4’7”. Wondering if this is a good fit? Thank you for your time

We have a 2018 Cobalt CS22 surf. Most of the guys that are surfing are 200+ LBS up to about 250. What do you recommend?

Hi :) I own a 2001 20v Tige with two 1100 ibs water ballast at the back of the boat ,what kind of board should I buy if I want to do 360 :)

This was very informative. I am curious about the best fit for me. I would put myself somewhere in the intermediate category. I have no issue getting up on the board. On one friend’s boat which can generate awesome waves, I can ride pretty well with little to no need for the rope unless I fall behind. On another friend’s boat, which produces a pretty small wake, I have yet to be able to let go of the rope. I’m 6’3”, 300lbs and looking for a budget friendly(because I don’t own a boat) board to learn on. I think I want a surf or hybrid style board that is pretty fast. What would you suggest?

A good board that we recommend to almost everyone is the Phase 5 Model X. Great surf/ hybrid style board with plenty of speed!

Would it be possible to set up a larger boat for surfing? Like something in the 35ft range. If possible how could it be done?
@BoardCo
@BoardCo 3 жыл бұрын
Can be done but it is a challenge - the only way to do it is to use weight to lean it slightly and if it has two engines you can crab the engines by having them offset slightly. This is done from time to time when yacht surfing and you can get a great wave with all the weight / size on the REALLY big boats.

Nautique sport 200. 1500 lbs ballast and a wake shaper. Have 3 riders between 210lbs and 260lbs all 6’2 plus what board would you recommend? I am a budget conscious person so I was considering the Connelly Bentley
@BoardCo
@BoardCo 2 жыл бұрын
The Bentley would be ok but there are definitely other boards that would work better. Here are just a few recommendations: Good - Hyperlite Broadcast Better - Liquid Force POD Best - Phase 5 Trident or Doctor

So in watching this I'm actually trying to decide between getting a broadcast to get my feet wet or committing to a model x. Is there a huge difference in those two boards as far as ride goes ect? I guess what I am asking is spending more worth it?
@dannykrupski5738
@dannykrupski5738 2 жыл бұрын
If you haven't already made a purchase I would recommend just committing to a model x. The model X will let you keep progressing in skill and you wont outgrow it unlike the broadcast which might last you a season before you'll be looking to upgrade.

@@joelsteele7341 broadcast isn’t a bad board and definitely a solid beginner board to get you started. Sometimes blem boards will come up for sale. I’ve found you definitely get what you pay for with wakesurf boards.

We have a 2022 Yamaha 255x. I would like to think this boat produces a med size wave(but I'm not a expert so I'm not sure). We are all about 180-190lbs and using a 4'8 ronix marsh mello thrasher. Cant seem to ride the wave my buddy thinks it's the board. We do pretty good with the line but can't get it to go slack so we are getting pushed along...thoughts?

Quick question, I purchased a board that is advertised to my weight, but I have gotten much better and I feel like the board is to big for tricks such as shuvs. What do you recommend that I do?
@BoardCo
@BoardCo Жыл бұрын
That is a good question! The size of the board depends on a lot of things like skill level and wave size. Typically the only downside to a board being larger is that it will ride really high in the water and not give you as much control. If you feel that it isn't spinning fast enough to perform shuvs it is probably not the size of the board but rather the board design or your specific riding style. That said, getting a smaller board might definitely help.
