Criminally underrated game, give us fans an expansion!

I liked the game but what I liked the most in this video was that you explained all the cards. My usual problem with the show is that I can't really see all the cards that clearly, so explaining what exactly does what really made a difference for watching the game. Thanks a lot for that!

I noticed this during your game on evolution, you guys are the most mature people when it comes to attacks and being attacked in boardgames. A few of my games often end with hurt feelings.

Here's my experience with attacking and being FULLY competitive in board games: My game group has converged from this childish full in-your-face players to totally friendly and game-enjoyment like group that resembles this one that BGG Gamenight's group has. We love GameNight! and we not only watch them, enjoy the videos and pick out a lot of games to buy for my (our) collection, but we also, became what they are in sportsmanship and just, being friendly and helpful during the game to each other! This show is not only entertaining but it for sure tells a story of how the atmosphere should be while playing board games, although not every man can converge into this kind of both passionate and sportsmanlike board gamers! :D Love you guys and a GREAT comment Hayden!

Weird, my game group will gleefully attack and get revenge on each other. Edit: A lot of times, it is almost complimentary. Why attack someone if they're not doing better?

Love the way Aaron immediately accidentally invents a contraction for "Greek myth": "Greeth"! :-)

This was the suggested beginner deck, but some of the other gods are really brutal and aggressive. Hermes is mostly about stealing things and using or re-using one use only powers from you or others, Apollo introduces the Oracle, which allows card predictions and drawing cards into your domain, and Ares introduces Prestige Points, or PP, which give you more points at the end of the game. Some decks can be very aggressive, so much that depending on what deck you make, the game is different every time!

Potential house rule to water down that unfortunate effect of destroying cards (I agree with Dave that it "interferes with my fun"): instead of destroying a card, the power "locks" the target card for one turn: it cannot transfer, its powers don't work, etc. "tap" the card on the table to remember to reset it the next turn. Then the attack still has some positive effect (in fact, given the limited number of turns, it's pretty potent), but it isn't nearly as big of a bummer.

Love seeing the expression on the Staypuff Marshmallow Man in the background. Some time he is happy and other times he is angry. LOL

The deck specialities (from what I noticed) : Hera: Gives to you and other players Hephaestus: Gold Zeus: Victory Points Hades: Transfers Poseidon: Attacking other players Hermes: Using card abilities Apollo: The Oracle (predicting and drawing cards) Ares: Prestige Points (bonus VP at the end of the game)

Lincoln and Aaron said that a 60 minute game time was unrealistic, but didn't they finish in almost exactly 60 minutes? Was there that much time edited out?

I bought this game and I really like the way the phases were explained. Thanks guys! Another great award winner added to my collection. Seems a bit complex, but give yourself some time to try it out! Get those points!!

It's perfectly safe to say "tap". The Deckmaster patent covers the entire set of base rules of Magic: the Gathering, not just the act of tapping in isolation.

the rotating mechanism. I wish wizards of the coast would put that patent in the public domain. So many games have to skirt around that patent.

Seen this played with two players and much more interesting with 4 especially you 4. However it seemed to me that everyone was a little more on edge or something while playing this game for some reason but I still love you all. Hated missing you at GenCon this year (sick) but maybe next year.

40:17 The only way to get a Citizen card is to miss a column requirement or activate a card effect. It says on the cards something like: draw a card face up.

35:30 she transferred Charon and another card. She should've took 2 VP's. Because the Charon card may be one of the cards transferred to qualify.

You guys mention that the box time is short, did you spend a lot more time playing then was shown? Was there a lot of editing?

BoardGameGeekTV thanks for the reply and I love the show! I just recently got inis and Elysium on part from your playthroughs so thank you. My family also love the plays of kids games you do. Keep up the great work! I would love to see some more aggressive dudes on a map games like kemet, blood rage or viral if your looking for any suggestions.

Cool game, but a ton going on and seems like it can get mathy in a lot of different ways. No way my group could play this unfortunately as they are all pretty casual gamers.
@marquonuk Жыл бұрын
I enjoyed watching you play it, but didn't take to the game as it seemed over-complicated and over-competitive (and that seems to have been the simplest level!). Personally, I prefer cooperative games as it's often more fun if it's "us against the game", but each to their own. I also think that the turn columns, though innovative, could be tweaked in some way so you don't have to ruin your plans when a n other takes a card that was essential to you. Maybe each column could feature *two* of the four colours instead of one to give you one chance to recover after you've discarded a column you then find you need?

Why is Nikki so passive and unenthusiastic? Monosyllabic speech, almost looks like she is forced to play :(
