Im leaning towards 51st state more. Atm i have a chance to test new era before buying. Now that i start to understand the rules it seems like a very interesting game. How well do the master set rules merge with the new era edition?

I had watched several videos of Imperial Settlers but none of them created any desire to own or even just play the game. Watching you play it was really entertaining, though - and totally changed my mind. Today we received our copy and enjoyed our first play a lot. Thanks for helping me purchase a cool game! :-)

I wish I could explain games as succinctly as Aaron. I recently played this for the first time and apart from a few rules we got wrong (I was the one reading the rules and explaining the game) I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to play this game again and am glad I found this video before I embark on my second playthrough.

This looks like a pretty cool game that I might pick up. I've watched every video you guys have done. Your entertainment value is great! Thank you and keep up the top notch work! Have you considered replaying some of the games you guys have done already? I would pretty much watch anything you guys post.

I agree that there is some luck of the draw in this game - but much less than you guys seem to think (judging by the end game discussion). As far as my experience goes - to get a really good score (above 100) you HAVE TO draw all (or almost all) of your faction cards - thus you get to play most of the point generating locations. Drawing cards should have the highest priority in this game when spending dudes or getting deals.

Imperial Settlers I buy it few weeks ago now I'm finish study the rules. Can't wait to play my first round but I have one Question: The defence token counts not as an action can I build an location + place the defence token on the building I builded in my action phase? Or have I place the defence token befor I do any action in my same action Phase?

As a viewer, I also thought that turns one and two were almost unnecessary. The slow ramping up was noticed here too. I actually stopped the video after each of the first two turns out of sheer boredom. But when I came back the third time, I finished it, as turn three got better, and turns four and five were very entertaining. Also, great job on the narration during the game, as otherwise I'd have had no idea what anyone was doing ever, since everything seemed so small. All I could differentiate were colors of pieces and cards. Now get to the next episode! :D

Unfortunately it's a little bit a multiplayer solitaire. And you shouldn't play it with 4 players, 2 or max 3.

Omg, now I'm scared to even try this game. The rules sound very complicated. I'm at 17:22 and still explaining...
@Fallenstar378 жыл бұрын
Not really. Every round works the same and cards explanate themselves. Instruction is not that long. Id say kinda like five tribes or keyflower, definitely much lighter than agricola or kanban.

I enjoyed the video, but the game itself didn't seem very interesting. There wasn't a lot of player interaction (everyone was kind of building their only stuff, and only occasionally "looked up" to affect other players). I was a little surprised there wasn't more deals made "Go for him instead and I won't break your village next turn".

I went into watching this thinking I really wanted it....but now that I've seen it, I'm not so sure. The luck of the draw...though obviously a big part of the game is to draw as many as you can...but there is still a bit of luck there and if you don't get your main engine building cards then you are probably screwed. The fact that the first 2 rounds are borderline meaningless is a downfall. For a game that can be 2 hours or more...to go through that long of a game to not get the card you really need or the fact that you have to slog through 30+ minutes of 2-3 rounds that not a lot happens....ehhh, just not sure.
@ShelleyDanielle9 жыл бұрын
My husband and I play this a lot and never has the game went on longer than 60m. The more you play, the better you get. You understand the game better, get to know the factions/cards and are able to be more strategic and it goes a lot faster.
@andrejespersen13638 жыл бұрын
+Shelley Shaw-Weldon Agree its no were 2 hours , and for 2 player that know the game it takes us around 30 min tops to hammer 5 rounds out. And for the build up ifs not meaningless if you know your faction deck you want specific materials or buildings depending on faction. It looks over complicated but it plays clean and can be cut throat if you know what buildings to raze from what faction. :)
@andrejespersen13638 жыл бұрын
+PreppinShootinLivin Luck of the draw not really your faction cards have several copies of most of the cards from 1-3. and for the first rounds beeing meaningless dead wrong if you know your faction and the faction you play against you will know what to raze and what you want to build and what to protect. it looks overly complicated and play time for 2 player is around 30 min for us after 5 min setup. I hope you atleast got to try it :) over the passed year.

After watching you guys not be able to pronounce his name I had to stop watching. Poor Ignacy. Watch Dice Tower. Tom says it all the time. They talk to him during live plays of his game so yes, their pronunciation is accurate. I don't know if it's just me or does Grey elephant, arguably a smaller budget, have better games and production to their live shows that they improv?...
