As quick and undervalued as your video is believe it or not this video has helped me incredibly to redo my boat carpet. Thanks for posting it; it definitely makes a huge difference

I have an almost identical boat. Mines a 1994 but otherwise the same. Great video! I have some flooring to fix so I might as well do the carpet also.

Thanks I appreciate it. Was a Fun project. We did alot on this boat making it just a bit nice and reliable. The carpet was the biggest visible upgrade. And wasn't too hard of an install. Thanks for the comment.

Would it have been possible to roll some gelcoat on the clean deck and then go with snap in carpet from there? I have a 98 Searay Bowrider and am considering removing my worn carpet and replacing it with either snap in carpet, or seadek. This video is giving me the motivation to make the attempt.

Thanks for posting your video. I've been debating wether to replace the carpet on my boat, but now I think I'm gonna do it. What was the hardest part of the project? Thanks.
@safserm14 жыл бұрын
Just doing it. It wont get done unless u start. Only thing I may have done different is put a waterproof membrane or paint first I've seen guys just roll on rustoleum first as a cheap alternative. Wasnt too hard. Just keep enough extra razor blades. They dull fast. And some good scissors and you'll be good. Mine is still holding up today. Good luck on your install. You'll be good

How can I cut it in shape mine came with no carpet so do I just roll the whole capers and cut it in shape of the boat ? Or do you need the old carpet
@safserm15 жыл бұрын
I used the old carpet to make a template that was a bit large to give myself excess to cut off .

Why does everyone add elevator music to their videos? Is it required? I find myself turning it down most of the time

I have a bayliner capri 1700 LS and what is that hole in the middle? And did you cover that with wood?
@safserm16 жыл бұрын
JJ Zinn the hole in the middle is for the ski locker. Or the storage space in the middle of the boat underneath the flooring. Near the end of the video you will see us carpeting the piece of wood that covers the hole. It's like a hatch for a storage area. Hope that helps.

I have a video of us removing it on my channel. That may help. Give yourself plenty of extra material. And have alot of fresh razor blades. Makes a huge diffrence.

What year and model is your Capri? I have an 89' 1750 with the OMC 2.3 Cobra that I'm planning on restoring. Boat is structurally and mechanically sound, I just need to address a few cosmetic issues...
@safserm16 жыл бұрын
Scott Stewart it's a 1987 bayliner capri with the 3.0 litre. This was a good way to make a lot of the boat look better . Though I still haven't got the upholstery fixed. Just the carpet made a huge diffrence. I got a bimimi top and some custom pole holders and I'm good.

safserm1, thanks for your response. Good luck with the remainder of your restoration. Looks good so far man!

What kind of adhesive did you use? Currently rebuilding the same boat with my buddy.
@safserm15 жыл бұрын
I used some outdoor all weather carpet adhesive for like patios. Just some home depot stuff. I will say this let it dry . Dont get the carpet wet till the glue is fully cured

tacoskank I def want to do the guides. It's galvanized so it's hard for me to justify painting it. I've been keepin my eyes open for the metal to build it.
