Amazing I lived in Brick for 30 years and never realized this was going on just a few minutes from where I lived, that would have been a great place to stop and eat lunch after picking up an Italian Cheese Steak at Pizza express and enjoying the sights. LMFIAO Nice videos..!!

The worst part is when you go through the draw bridge, some days there are breakers under the bridge and it's very narrow you take turns shooting through, you have no choice but to power up to maintain steerage. It's the most dangerous place to boat and I've been boating since I was about 10 yrs old. Been all over Florida even Key West and the Space Coast.

The bridge on the south end is about 50% better than it used to be but that ledge just south of it is still a monster. You can see it on the depth sounder clear as day. I remember when the old bridge was there tough and people just didn't even try it if they didn't know- it was like crossing a dangerous bar is treated in places... with respect.

Ok 1st i ran this canal for years,, 2nd ITS NOT THE BOATS THAT CREATE THESE CONDITIONS, the problem is this canal connects the barneghetto bay to the manasquan river , further complicating the issue is theres only 2 inlets one on the north side of the canal the manasqaun/pt pleasant inlet and on the south side theres the barneghetto inlet, there use use to be 2 inlets south of the canal, but no more , the one near near lavelette/bay head from my recolection, that one was filled in decades ago, now to further complicate matters theres a tidal change difference between the 2 remaining inlets,, so when you go from hi to low or low to high tides you get this funneling effect thru the canal this is what causes this mess,, the issue can also be seen at the barneghetto inlet, ive litterally seen whirlpools behind the bouys during tidal changes, bottom line is too much water and not enough openings during tide changes,,

I've kayaked class 4 whitewater and liked it. This does not look like fun. Rocks and fallen trees may pose a hazard in whitewater but they don't move around and do stupid things.
