TIP 1 Just install an outlet inside the booze locker wall legged off the one in the nav station cabinet. 👉👉TIP 2 For the closet probs install a 12" hand towel bar upside down from back to front. 👉👉TIP 3 For your fan issues get the mobile suction cup mounted ones with the lever on it. From the online river store. 😍😍They hold on just as good as those safety suction cup grab bars for tubs/showers and the ones for installing window pains. 😎😎TIP 4 A BIG Plus! Those suction safety grab bars are a huge win for use on the outside of boats as Oh crap handles. On the hull to tie off to or a few used as a ladder.👈👈😜Not kidding they really do work like this.

Matt, to access the outlet in the booze corner, just remove the door. It's a cool look and you will have electrical access. You can break up the laminato theme and add visual appeal.
@mrnickbig1
@mrnickbig1 Жыл бұрын
Concerning the outlet by the booze locker, just make a cutaway in the door so the outlet isn't covered. Then paint the receptacle cover brown to match the wood. As for the fans, try some low profile mounting brackets, like used for hanging radio mics, with electrical connectors. I also recommend buying a cheap thermal scanner, like TM160(under $400 US), or renting one. It will show electrical problems in wiring or batteries, problems with engines, water intrusion in wood and fiberglass, and more. They are also fun for spotting hidden animals or taking cool pictures.

I recently went to St Thomas in route to the BVI and stayed overnight in the Red Hook area. It's cool. The biggest surprise on St Thomas was the high costs of taxies. Matt, here is a multiple solution for your ice maker power issue. Cut a U shape cutout in the edge of the booze locker cover facing the pantry/storage wall. The hole would be big enough to get a finger in to help remove the cover. Then inside the locker below the outlet in your electric panel, add another outlet. Finally run the power cord for the ice maker through the locker cover and into the new receptacle.

Your boat is fitted out well for relaxed cruising in the Caribbean, but you might wish to consider what would happen if you got slammed by an unexpected front when you are on a trip. For safety, you would need lee cloths to keep yourselves from being tossed about and injured. You would also need a solid companionway door to slide inside your current doors if you got caught out and needed to prevent the boat from flooding with heavy seas. That would also improve the security of your boat to protect against a break-in if you had to leave it for a few days in a less secure anchorage. Your current doors provide no security.

Great video guys. Couple of suggestions. There are RV fans designed to fit over roof hatches which do a great job of pushing or pulling air (reversible air flow). If you could rig something like this up on a roof hatch you'd have air flow throughout the cabin. For the hidden AC outlet. I'm guessing you don't need stuff plugged in all the time so perhaps either design a small trap door in the electrical panel door, or install a small marine screw-out inspection hatch, either of which will allow you to route the electric cord to the outlet, close the electrical panel door, and have access to the booze locker.
@bmwchefbmw

fans? you have a wire channel with the little lights on the ceiling. run the wire there, and install fans near the ceiling on the bulkheads. The cabinet door over the outlet, change the hinges so it opens to the bulkhead and a magnet to keep it there. Now your outlet and booze locker are accessible most of the time, can close only when you want to look totally sleek! Great job guys.

Two things I might have done differently for your fixes Matt. On the sides of the pull-out for the trash can I would have cut some indentations to grab with the fingertips when it's out a little bit. Closed it would still look the same. For the screen doors on the companionway I would have considered using stainless steel piano hinges. They would have given you the 180 degree opening you want, although it would have involved finding them and spending a little $$.

To answer your question about fan placement, put them at window height. That way there is no conflict with cabinet door swing. They don't need to be on the cabinet doors, nor are the cabinet doors so tall that the fans would be at too great a height for you to get good effect from the fans on a hot day (or night). Good program today. I am most interested in your videos in which you are problem solving, either maintenance or sailing.

What fun you are! Thank you 😊. Kristen, lovin’ your hair! Fans are very important in a sailboat 🥵Maybe attach some on brackets, or a bending arm attached to your wood trim, as opposed to the laminate. Good luck, you’ll figure it out. Look how far you’ve come ♥️

For your fan mounting.,,, check RAM mounts, Amazon sells them. They have suction cup mounts that mount almost anything. They are super strong and will have no problem mounting one of those little fans. With a few of these you can stick the fans anywhere you want and move them around.
