I was surprised you didn't butter the 2nd Cosa Board before the you sandwich them...

Before starting each sheet, the sheet going on top was done shortly before. It may be hard to see since it’s not thick and have found when the putty is thick, it trapped some air. Not a lot but there was some on a test piece.

Looking good Austin. As this is becoming somewhat of an educational follow along. I want to note. When you bedded the first two Coosa boards together in the chop strand sandwich, I wish you would have coated the second Coosa board, and had some squeeze out. It will be fine, and Coosa does not really absorb resin, but this would have assured a good bond, not a thirsty bond.

I knew this would come up so that’s why I showed the resin getting squeezed out. It came out everywhere and was all over the floor 👍 just didn’t have the video to show it.

Do you need to apply some sort of release agent to the screws to stop them becoming stuck when laminating the boards

Nope, it will back out like nothing was done. It worked out really well.

Is this your very first project, you seem very good what your doing, just imagine the complete experience will receive, good luck, you probably couldn't buy a new boat this size , for what you invest in this boat. In long road you benefit your investment.

Thank you! Yes, this is my first boat project. Just lots of research and just going for it. This boat when done would probably be about 225,000 to 250,000 once I do what I am planing. I am guessing around 60,000 once I am complete.

I would have used some sort of epoxy glue. To sick it to your rear fiberglass section!

Question about the angle .did you increase each board to keep angle?

I didn’t because I wanted the water if any to run off and not sit up on top. It sits level as I cut it but if I increased the size, it would drain and be angled toward the back of the transom.

Each sheet is 1” and have layers of glass making it about 3 1/4” transom thickness
