Boat transom wash down cover - Replace broken shower cup with new!

Replacing my boat transom wash down shower cup and lid. The hinged door to the transom shower washdown on my boat was missing so I am replacing the door assembly with a new one. Boat trim and hardware accessories can wear out over time and keeping up with repairs to boat fixtures and trim pieces can help extend the life of your boat and help to keep it from becoming an old run-down boat. Boat upgrades and fixing up your boat make the difference between a tired old boat and well-maintained older boat! While the back seat is removed, I realized it's a good time to replace the transom shower cup and cover on my boat. I use acetone to prepare the fiberglass surface and 3M 4200 flexible marine sealant to seal around the new transom shower cup when I install it.
The swim platform shower kit on my boat was missing a door, but I found a direct exact replacement which made this project a straightforward swap. I like to use butyl tape for similar projects. It is neat and easy to work with. It is available at Amazon or Sailrite. I tried to include a link to the product but it seems KZbin deletes my comments when there is a link in them. It must be a new policy - never did that before.
