While at the Astoria welcome center we talked to the lady there and she suggested we take the ferry over to Washington, glad we did! We were in our 30ft ACE towing a car. Love your videos of Oregon, loved our trip there.

Great ride through the small towns, love them, and that's definitely the way to get to Walmart, lol. The bridge into Longview is beautiful in itself. Scenery everywhere. Between you and PNW Granny, I'm blessed to see the beautiful northwest, and catch some history too. Wow. Thanks again for this series. 😊👍👍

In your last video, I figured we'd get another ferry ride when you said you were going back to the Oregon side. Since there are no bridges on that part of the river. The ferry looks a lot nicer than that bridge. It's too bad it doesn't go all the way across, instead of just to the island.

He drove through Cathlamet and onto Puget Island. Then took the ferry across the Columbia River from Puget Island to Westport Oregon. Once there, he took Hwy 30 east to Rainier Oregon crossed the Columbia via the Lewis and Clark Bridge into Longview.

Nice ferry ride, not too crowded and short wait time. Welcome back to Washington. Hope Wal Mart doesn't bite the wallet too deep. Happy trails.

I've watched your videos pretty close since we just finished our 7 week rv trip from Ga. to Oregon, Washington, Montana, ND then Minnesota home. Hey, we did the same ferry but from Oregon to Washington. A lady at the welcome center in Astoria said it would be neat to ferry over, she was right! We stayed at Cascade Locks KOA , boy, what an experience! Those train whistles drove my wife crazy at night, me, just the ambiance . Gotta catch up on your videos since we were gone for 7 weeks. BTW, love your videos, you show the scenery and don't focus on yourself like some do.

You crossing over to Oregon on the ferry reminded me of when Governor McCall was in office he made a statement to the effect “come and visit Oregon but don’t stay”. I think he was referring to the California migration to Oregon. Someone came up with a Oregon passport that sold in the stores. You had to have one to visit Oregon especially if you were coming from California. I even think someone put a sign on their property near the border saying people from California had to have one. Never been on the ferry. Been on the bridge to Longview many times.

Russ... you're a lot braver than I am. It would have taken me a half hour of sitting on the shoulder starring at that bridge to get my nerve up. I'd rather take the ferry. Be sure and shoot lots of drone footage of the river. I've never seen it from that perspective. I'm old like you. And they didn't have drones when I was last out that way. Have fun always and safe travels. Randy in Des Moines. 👍🌎✌

How much for a 28 ft motorhome?
@MaxZomboni5 жыл бұрын
Chuck Thomas They don't even mention it on their website, but from one news article it appears that it's $20 for 22 - 29 feet, and then going up from there. That seems a bit high for a 12 minute ferry ride. That's probably why they don't publicise it.
