8th(Q) shortcut: When distance is constant, then the time is inversely proportional to speed So, Tu:Td=11:5 then Su:Sd=5:11 Boat speed= Su+Sd/2 =5+11/2 =8 Stream speed=Sd-Su/2 =11-5/2 =3 Therefore x:y= 8:3. Thank you

Another short method for 4th qstn- Find upstream speed 4.5-1.5= 3 Downstream speed 4.5+1.5= 6 When 2 speed are given say speed X and speed y, average of them will be= 2xy/x+y =2*3*6/3+6 = 4

in problem no.4, we have a formula for average speed of known 2 different speeds is " 2(speed1*speed2)/(speed1+speed2) " here speed 1=downstream speed i.e(x-y) & speed 2=Upstream speed i.e(x+y) 🙌thank you
