Bob Bergland is an American bass player, saxophonist and singer who is a long-time original member of Chicago’s The Ides of March. In fact, Bob along with Jim Peterik (lead vocals, lead guitar), Larry Millas (rhythm guitar, bass and vocals) and Mike Borch (drums and vocals) are all original members and all still playing together in The Ides of March. The band started in 1964 in Berwyn, Illinois. An early hit, “You Wouldn’t Listen” from 1966 gained a lot of air play, but it was 1970’s “Vehicle” that would put the band on the map. The song was a #1 single on Cash Box and #2 on Billboard and is still played to this day. The band went on an extended hiatus in 1973 but did return with the original lineup in 1990. To date there have been 9 studio albums, 2 live and a compilation. 2019’s Play On is the band’s latest.
