I needed this. I’m very scared. I relapsed after over 2 years and it has been hell. All my shortcomings are showing. My girlfriend just found out she’s pregnant. Today at 5am I made the decision to throw away all my drinks and drugs. I can’t live like this anymore. My mind is a battleground and I just need the peace and quiet I only get from these steps

Oh my I hope you make it back to the rooms of recovery ❤️‍🩹 it’s tough yet you can do it one day at a time. You matter still to God. Been sober since 5-10-2015 and on 5-10-2019 I celebrated 4 years and that very day buried my Beloved Husband of 21 years and I AM still sober by the grace of God.

Working the 12 steps and getting a sponsor to do them with is the only thing that has made me not think about drinking...quiting cold turkey I was miserable until I just gave in and drank again.... Then it got worse never got any better until 17MAY21 today I wish it was possible to meet Dr Bob and Bill W rather than any living celebrity. Them and the creator of computers, the creator of the internet, I'm a zoom baby.

Im learning to set aside everything i have thought that i know about the power of God in OTHER peoples lives and learn to access by faith, the power which has eluded my grasp in all of my desire to know the deep things of God. What good does it to know these things if i refuse to practice them.

You are telling my story, slowly but surely skipped slipped back into the bottle. years of God's grace and goodness,my my judgement against myself and using the drink to medicate another disorder. Approval and opinions of others I chose to eat from the tree of knowledge of hell and fell into the trap of pretentious looking good on the outside. Was able to moderate for several yrs not realizing was self medicating bipolar disorder. Becuz I was nothing like my brother ouch judgement against him. Grateful it's not as bad as his was...last 6 months I've been Rapidly out of control wout knowing. But costly collisions almost my life got attention to seek professional help maybe inpatient idk....ty my daughter who lives in Portugal turned me on to you. I like that you include who God is and how he lives us so and lives in Us when we let him. 67 yrs young prayerfully will let go of my u old bs (belief system) I've been trying to do by myself and hopefully allow The potter rebuild this ole gal. Heck last few weeks revelation He was the 4th man in the fire with me Again again again. Wow... Please pray for me.

I have worked the steps, first on my own, and now with a sponsor. I tried everything else first and nothing worked. I believe in AA but I do not believe in my ability to stick to AA. Bob D. talks about how it got harder when he got sober; I identify with that. I've taken the sponsor prescribed suggestions/actions with each step and, so far, they are not keeping me sober, they're kept me drunk. I'm not saying it won't work for you, but it's not working for me. Drinking isn't working for me either. I'm at a loss. You can call it a jumping off place, but I am lost.
