Thanks a lot for that! Incredible, that Bob played this song live for the first time, 36 years after the movie! He's unpredictable, and we are so grateful that he is! :)

The first time I saw Pat Garret and Billy the Kid I went out THE VERY NEXT DAY and bought the soundtrack. And the whole vibe of that music, and the movie, have never left me. It still makes me sad when I hear..."Why don't you just shoot him, Billy?" And Billy says, "Cos he's my friend". It still chokes me up. 😔✌️

I remember buying the soundtrack which has a slightly different performance than this, but I played it over and over again and thought it was the best soundtrack ever for a movie. The movie was great and the music went perfectly along with it.

Ridiculous to think that at this stage he could conceivably go out and play a gig of previously unperformed songs and it'd be one of the highlights of his career. What a man.

Thanks so much for uploading! Not that it makes any difference, but the official site lists it as "Billy 1" played live in Stockholm that day. Cheers!

Boy, I will take you for a walk across Hell on a spider's web If you do not REPENT and sing the Song of JESUS!!! Great, great movie, love Bob and Peckinpah. Cross of Iron is shattering, haunting. I love Bob Dylan, he has more balls than a bowling alley! God bless him with full force!

Despite critics the movie soundtrack was fruitful for Dylan - Knocking on Heavens Door, Durango, Senor and that Tex Mex pov. This sounds very much like Tempest - only 4 years early

One of my favourite songs, but I have to confess I don't like this version. I am not sure Bob from 2009 understands the Bob from 1973.
