Wow and immagine that I got into Dylan with just an old cassette of the Best of. I didn't have anyone on KZbin to tell me what to think of the music. How primitive those times were without such useful videos.

Classic tune. There’s a great slower version on KZbin with Emmy Lou Harris I believe doing backup vocals

I do wish Bob's directorial effort were available in higher quality. Eat the Document is only on YT in 480p

probably don’t wanna see it in any higher resolution tbh lol

Wonderfully descriptive and informative commentary! Love your command of language and slightly irreverent humour offsetting your understated serious research! Thank you! I hope Bob gets to hear one of your videos because I think he would enjoy it! 🙌

always thought it was funny how the one time the band completely falls apart is when bob drops the n word, really makes the song crash into a tree

Bob has used the N-word one or two more times depending on how you count it. His original song "Hiding Too Long" which he only performed once uses it, and his adaptation of the Black Cross poem from around 61' does as well.

“Hurricane is the only bob dylan song with the n word” hezekiah jones??, pfft you call yourself a dylanologist

Can't get behind it. Impressive as a performance but ... I think the story is false. It's too hypey. I love Desire. It's not because Hurricane may be mendacious that I don't like it though. I'm not sure why I don't listen to it anymore. Hmpf.
