I don't even know what to say. I was laughing and crying and just spell bound through that whole thing. I'm in no way new to Bob Dylan. He makes it new every time, his creativity and brilliance are astounding. Whew. Wow. My heart is beating hard against my chest, tears stinging my eyes. Wow. Wow. Wow. Thank you, Bob. What a performance.

Absolutely one of their finest performances of this most enchanting song - which makes me breath in and out on my Hohner in E. My ides is that Bob and his fine crew were at their best of their enormous power around 2000 AD ! Apparently I was too much absorbed in work, missing their shows... Thank to YT and the Uploaders I enjoy all this ;-)

simply superb. i had the pleasure to see Dylan in 98 and 2000 & 2001 ish. this was his best band line-up i think. just superb. with Larry Cambell, Charlie Sexton, Tony of course and possibly George Recelli on drum here ( or maybe not) . i just love these era of the never ending tour.

Dear Mr. Moth, I know I must have seen this but must not paid enough attention to the magnificence of it all, the fan or wind blowing Larry Campbell’s hair back, the intent and content bobbing of the top of the audience’s heads almost in unison to the beat of Bob’s musical masterpieces. Most of all I can feel the love of the fans on this one. And why not? It’s summer in Scotland❤🌞👍🏼

I first saw Dylan in the 80s, before Oh, Mercy, at maybe 7 years old. This video is from when I was seeing him as a young adult whenever I could. The real memories, when it was mine, and I'd lived the words.

During my life I have learned a lot from cousin Bob and yet on occasion when we talk, he will ask me for my most honest opinion, he will ask me what I think of some new lyrics that he has written, on very rare occasions, I will rub out a few words and write in what I feel will work better. Bob is that kind of fair and open-minded man, he listens, and he takes notes. Yet I wish that I have 0.15pc of cousin Bobs God given talents and courage

Ain't it just like the night to play tricks When you're trying to be so quiet? We sit here stranded though we're all doing our best to deny it And Louise holds a handful of rain tempting you to defy it Lights flicker from the opposite loft In this room the heat pipes just cough The country music station plays soft But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off Just Louise and her lover, so entwined And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind In the empty lot where the ladies play Blind man's bluff with the key chain And the all-night girls They whisper of escapades out on the D-train We can hear the night-watch man click his flashlight Ask himself if it's him or them that's insane Louise, she's alright, she's just near She's delicate and seems like the mirror But she just makes it all to concise and too clear That Johanna's not here The ghost of electricity howls in the bones of her face Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place And now little boy lost, he takes himself so seriously He brags of his misery, he likes to live dangerously And when bringing her name up, he speaks of a farewell kiss to me He's sure got a lot of gall to be so useless and all Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall Oh, how can I explain, it's so hard to get on? And these visions of Johanna, they've kept me up past the dawn Inside the museums infinity goes up on trial Voices echo, "This is what salvation must be like after a while" But Mona Lisa must have had the highway blues You can tell by the way she smiles See the primitive wallflower freeze When the jelly-faced women all sneeze Hear the one with the mustache say "Jeez, I can't find my knees" Both jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule But these visions of Johanna, they make it all seem so cruel The peddler now speaks to the countess Who's pretending to care for him Saying, "Name me someone that's not a parasite And I'll go out and say a prayer for him" But like Louise always says, "You can't look at much, can you man as she herself prepares for him?" And Madonna, she still has not showed We see this empty cage now corrode Where her cape of the stage once had flowed The fiddler, he now steps to the road He writes, "Everything's been returned which was owed" On the back of the fish truck that loads while my conscience explodes The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain And these visions of Johanna are now all that remain

This person you had the visions of, what does she look like?
@Lazariuk Жыл бұрын
She looks exactly like Joan Baez. Louise holding a handful of rain looks exactly the blond dancer from the duet with Carole Laure’s “Save the Last Dance for me” The one being so useless and all looks exactly like Leonard Cohen. The Nobody who has to think too much about Desolation Row is the same Nobody who stopped to ask Why in front of the Three Angels who stood high on the pole when the Bakery truck arrived containing Baby Doe where Bob’s flat chested junkie whore buried her live baby because of having the worse fear that can ever been had. The fear to bring children into the world. Nobody can sing the blues like Blind Willie Mctell singing “This is not the stove to bake your bread” to the Master of War Joan Baez. The story also involved a number of other issues like shiploads of children being brought from China and packed into trucks like fish (the fish truck loads as my conscience explodes) while Nobody risked his life to secure a map following the streetcar visions Joan had which gets mentioned in Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands” whose deck of cards was missing the Jack and the ace and who was the May Flower that Maggie picked was cast aside so that Joan could suck on Leonard cohen’s drug laced broken popsicle. Having already endured the wasted years of being framed by Joan and Leonard (see Percy’s Song) He has some bitter feelings expressed by the one who sang his small song. That you should definitely listen to “Fool’s Gold” by Lhasa de Sela. She also sings the song to Bob leading to his “I’m giving myself to you I Am as well as his creating his own version of Nobody and why he sings from Key West “I don’t love Nobody, give me a kiss” as he wrote a very long time ago in “I was young when I left home” the song must be for somebody if not for himself. This was fun writing. Everything being said to You is true. Imagine of what it is true. Or ask Bob who he was talking to when he sang “It’s all true, everything You heard”
