I would suggest that Ed Sheeran needs to get over himself. Sir Bob is being very gracious about it, but as he has so rightly said, the fact that this record and it's re-release will have saved so many lives overs the years totally negates any PC-related argument, or criticism of the record.

What the wokes of the world criticising Bobs work fail to realise is the movement of Band/Live Aid was instrumental in fostering the notion of dignity , equality and agency that was prevalent from the mid 80s onwards and lead to many positive changes in attitudes towards those in precarious positions throughout the world. Yes, the words of the song are a bit clumsy, yes there was a lack of black artists in the original line up, and there were too many men, and no-one was in singing in a wheelchair -the fact is it was a monumental shift in consciousness and a genuine human reaction and response to a heartbreaking situation. Don't hate on Bob and what he was/is trying to achieve - he could have easily switched his TV off and forgotten about what he saw on the News that night - he didn't and god bless him for that ...

This man and his fellow artists did a wonderful thing back in the day to bring awareness of starvation on the African continent. Maybe the words weren't right (according to the woke brigade) but they were right at the time. Maybe the woke brigade should take a look at the images we all saw back then. I don't think they could handle it, but Bob and his fellow artists surely did!! God bless them all for their contribution to this awful and CONTINUING famine in the continent of Africa. 🙏❤

Bob Geldoff was an average singer of an average little known band. He pulled off a publicity stunt to launch himself into worldwide fame. Africa is a continent made up of many countries. Like any continent on earth, there are the extremely rich and the extremely poor, as well as all those in-between. It would be insane to have shown Yugoslavia in the late 80's/early 90's as a representative of the state of all Europe. Anyway, this is a popular western media thing, from Tarzan to Oxfam or UNICEF ad's with poor little crying African children with flies on their lips. There are 5-star hotel resorts, restaurants, golf courses and stunning beaches in Africa. Bob Geldof has been told (by ACTUAL Africans) that mentalities have changed/what he is doing is offensive and by no means good for Africa as a whole, yet he continues... I guess Bob knows best right?
