Huggs would send me tickets for my school kids in Austin every single time I asked him. He preached education first to his players, and gave them what we all need in this world, but rarely have a person with the courage to deliver it. Bob Huggins cared enough his entire life to dole out the tough love. His heart is bigger than a basketball. My own daddy and his twin brother were good h.s. coaches. I couldn't ever dwell in their big shadows. Huggs used to say "My dad's shadow was a good one to be under..."

I'll always love Bob Huggins, and I know UC would've won in 2000 if not for that horrific injury to Kenyon Martin. The entire conference shakeout would've been different.
