Teskio, what equipment did he mention to you that he used? What year was this?
@teskio2 жыл бұрын
@@tonylancer7367 it was around 1998/99. I was a teenager. The main thing was the Rhodes Suitcase. That’s the sound I wanted and so as soon as he told me I set out and managed to find a used one. His mainstays were the Yamaha Yc-30, the Arp Odyssey, Fender Rhodes, Oberheim synth and some electric pianos and clavinets.
@tonylancer73672 жыл бұрын
@@teskio That's so cool! I think for me I always wonder what sounds he used, especially during his time in Fourplay during the 90s, that Yamaha piano and I think a DX underneath? Absolutely delicious, still wonder to this day. 😁

Oh man, this is just awesome. This track illustrates perfectly why such a perfect thing as the classic piano-bass-drums jazz trio exists and continues to do so and will forever be so -- three immortal beings inhabiting and sharing the same musical universe together making perfect aesthetic sense and perfect music. I ended up getting quite a lot of his LPs from that era including the one with Angela on and a live LP. I distinctly remember him being interviewed with Joe Sample for Blues and Soul magazine around the same time and they were both talking about their love for modern keyboard sounds of the time and how they weren't so interested in Rhodes et al.. Glad Bob had a change of heart as he sounds great on it...
