i remember this day. my parents made sure to carry ALL 7 of us to the funeral, and the yougnest of us at the time was only 4, i had just started high school. it was a sad long day for us. i can imagine how much more sad and difficult it was for the Wailers band and the I-Threes.. it must have been so painful to sing and perform. what courage and strength they show here.

Bob died an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian not Rastafarian. Didn’t you see the Clergy? Google the Priest that confirmed him. Clergy can’t conduct a funeral for a person not baptized Orthodox. He converted at the end of his life.

Whatever one may think of him, Edward Seaga took a monumental step in his final salute to Brother Bob when he said Bob would rest in the warm embrace of Jah Rastafari. The symbolism of the once despised now embraced as top ranking cannot be missed. Sad that have not moved from nice words towards the peace, love and unity society Bob Marley favored.

He was not about fame. in fact, if you really listened to his songs you would find everything you just said in them. He achieved exactly what he sat out to achieve. He was a voice for his people, so spiritual, so full of love, and hope. He hoped that his words would be that guiding light to lead his people to a better place mentally, spiritually, and physically. Because of these things and more he achieved fame.
