GUYS please get the Maurice Richard event facts corrected. Maurice Richard didnt hacked a player to the head with his stick. He got suspended because he punched a ref who was holding him while another player was punching Richard. and just so you know the one who got hacked on the head with a stick was Richard by the opposing team player and that what started the whole brawl that day. Maurice stood back up after receiving the slash on the head and jumped the player who did it then the ref hold Richard and let the oposing team punch Richard. Richard got off the grasp of the ref, turned around and punch the ref because he was holding him and letting the other guy beat up Richard. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get thee facts right its like the fourth time you guys say the event and get it wrong all the time and i keep correcting it in the comments like 3 times but obviously you guys dont read comments. i like you guys but man tbh that annoys me because you're giving false fact to others who are listening the show. the marner questions with the 3 players at 4M question is flawed because its completely closed as if the 12M can only be replaced by 3 players at 4M. Get an 8M player and a 4M one. Not to say this would be possible but an 8M and a 4M player you could replace Marner with, Brady Tkachuk at 8.2M and Sean Walker at 3.6M and you still have .2M left over of this 12M scenario.

The Bob Ogden scenario... I don't know why the asker decided on 3 or 4 players to take his place, when 2 would also suffice. $12M is what NJ is paying Hischier & Markstrom or what Ottawa is paying Tkachuk and Pinto next year. I would rather have either of those duos than just Marner at $12M. It's shaving a couple of million off of the top end talent to make sure the players lower down your line up, or in key positions like goaltending, is also competitive. The -25 point difference between Tkachuk & Marner isn't significant enough to really hinder Toronto in the standings either figuring Toronto finished with a +40 goal differential.

Just gotta say, taking Marner at $12m over 3 $4m players is absurd. Like, just looking at forwards who currently make exactly $4m, a fair few of them are 40-50 point guys. You could relatively overpay for a guy like Marcus Foligno, and still make up the regular season points total with guys like Ryan Hartman or (NOTED ALLAN WALSH CLIENT) David Perron. Those kinds of players give you the pushback and depth scoring the Leafs desperately need in the playoffs. It's such a no brainer to move on from Marner given the cap constraints - and I say all this as a Marner fan.
