Canucks 3-1 down, on the road, did something amazing. That is what real effort looks like. It was similar to the Leafs game. The Preds were playing shut down, just like the Bruins. I don't know what Rick Tocchet said, but the Canucks responded.

Steve jokes about putting Reaves in front of the net with all the stars out trying to score. Canucks just did this with Zadorov to tie the game in Nashville. In 2010 the Flyers and Blackhawks did this with Pronger and Buff. This actually works.

@ericschuck9147
@ericschuck9147 4 ай бұрын
They found one image that made Samsonov look terrible and translated that to him being unplayable. JVR has done that to a lot of goalies. The second goal, Samsonov was screened by two Bruins and two Leafs. He didn't see where the puck was going until it was too late. In short, good teams pick up their goalies, not burn them at the stake
@user-ob1mg1ib5f
@user-ob1mg1ib5f 4 ай бұрын
@@ericschuck9147 I completely agree. Steve kept talking about getting a goalie between the 10-20 range in NHL quality and I think Samsonov has been that since returning. This series he’s 1 goal saved below expected according to Moneypuck and Swayman is 8 goals saved above expected. Yes, Sammy is completely outclassed this round, but not many goalies wouldn’t be. As a team, they can’t say they’re running into hot goaltending. They’re making Swayman look better than he is. When you continually make the other team’s goalie look good for the better part of decade in the playoffs, it has eventually fall back on you.

My prediction before the series started was 4-1 bruins and if they played Florida, swept 4-0. You can't conceivably look at the style of play between the teams and the momentum heading in, mental load of previous matchups including being winless against them in playoffs since the 50's and winless against them this season. It's obscene to think this team was ever going to win, never mind get to 6/7 games. If they do it - they'll win the cup.

It annoys me. This team is built on offensive firepower to outscore their problems. They're supposed to win games 7-4 not 2-1. I never expected Sammy to be lights out, I expected the Leafs to be able to overcome one or two soft goals. Look at the Av's and Georgiev. They know they're going to have to score some goals and that's exactly what they're doing against one of the best defensive teams and goalies in the league.

I hope Treliving does in fact tell Marner in the offseason that he’s being sat until he agrees to be traded. Dude has amazing skill but has flat zero grit or mental fortitude. Massive drain on team morale and is basically 11 mil in dead cap at this point. Goodbye

Damn. Trying to imagine Patrick Roy answering those same questions if he were coaching the Leafs.

I remember this podcast was sarcastically talking about how "good" slafkovski would be. The reason the habs are excited about slaf is that he might never come close to scoring 70. Never. But his game is tailor made for the playoffs.

And how many years they still off the playoffs?? Looks like awhile to me. Shouldn't even have made it the last year they did.

@@realrealityeast6278 you are right it will take a few years for sure. Takes time to build properly. My point was to show why the Habs are excited about slaf. He might not be as flashy but the way he plays is really promising. Guess time will tell.

I don’t think Keefe doesn’t know what to do. I think keefe doesn’t know what do with players who aren’t giving the effort.

I love Mitch Marner. I wear his jersey while I watch every game, and have for several years. I believe he is legitimately one of the best wingers in the NHL. He should have been traded this offseason before his NMC kicked in July 1st. He feels the pressure too much in Toronto. As a local kid who plays in his emotions, he wants it too badly here. I fully believe he will go on and win a cup somewhere else as a major part of the puzzle.

I wonder if Keefe is talking about the effort level in terms of nylanders migraine, marners high ankle sprain and matthews shitting his guts out and how their effort level is good based on those factors, hard to know if he is out of touch or knows more than us about their status, because from the outside it is SHAMBOLIC

The Mitch thing is like the Kyle Lowrey and Demar Derozen thing for the Raptors. Ya both amazing players, but together it wasnt working, they hit a ceiling together and they created mental blocks for eachother dispite being best friends.
