I heard Adrian would take cheap shots in the ring and Dan got tired of it. Dangerous Dan the left hand man. Dan Spivy is one of the nicest individuals you'll ever meet. Dan did me a huge favor once and talk to a bunch of inner-city youth kids. He was the best speaker we had. Those kids gave him their full attention which never happens.

The way that I previously heard the story is that Adrian Adonis was a locker room bully as well as a ring bully! Danny Spivey was getting tired of Adrian's locker room attitude and told him so. When they had a match, somebody warned Danny that Adrian would shoot on the newbies and the "enhancement talent". Sure enough Danny said that Adrian tried to put Goodnight Irene / the sleeper hold on him for real. Danny retaliated in the ring. When they got back to the locker room, Adrian tried to jump him SO Danny defended himself. Of course, Adrian isn't here to tell his version of the story. However, there are many shoot videos on the web attesting to Adrian's BAD behavior.

What I heard from another wrestler was Adonis was bullying Spivey by not softening his blows to Spivey. That was one match and Spivey told Adonis don’t be so aggressive on the next match. Adonis blew off Spivey and I think almost injured him so Spivey was pretty pissed after that second match then I think tried to talk to Adonis then Adonis told him to screw off or something then Spivey lost it and pounded his ass good for Spivey. Correct me if I am wrong I think Orton wasn’t in the same room

Every other wrestler that tells this story says Adonis tried to put the sleeper on Spivey for real, and he was mouthing off to Spivey. This had gone on for a couple of nights. And Adonis had a reputation for bullying people. Adonis was tough and scared a lot of guys. He was a little crazy. Spivey KO'd Adonis in the ring after the attempted sleeper and went to the locker room. Adonis went after Spivey when they woke him up. Worst mistake Adonis ever made.
