Shanks retired when I was 6 years old, so the first manager I really knew was Bob. For me Shanks set the foundations and Bob built on that. Both a massive part of this football club and both remembered with immense fondness. Happy 100th Bob ...

He said he spoke softly because people would listen harder to what he was saying, and he would get they're full attention, great man, after we won the european cup cant remember what one, he was the only one who stayed sober after the match he said because he wanted to savour it and remember, liverpool players years later said they wished they did the same because they couldnt remember much, where as bob remembered everything, true legend.

I don’t understand why he’s not thought off world wide on the same as Alex Ferguson. I think his laid back approach and quite personality on media terms is why people outside Liverpool don’t admire him as much as he should be. You click in search for best English managers Brian clough is the first to appear. This shouldn’t be. Paisley won more trophy’s then any other English manager and he did it with different teams not just Shanklys foundation. He deserves a lot more recognition then he gets
